Koehler. Misses Ruthanne and June Ra­ der spent a few days with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wellwood Gill, at Grand Bend. Mrs. Bertha Hayter and her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bruce, who spent the past month in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, visiting Mrs. Hayfer’s daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vandhall, returned home Satur­ day. They visited many places in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bruce, of Windsor, spent the weekend with Mrs. Bertha Hayter. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. James Hayter were the lat­ ter’s brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fritzley, and her sister, Miss Betty Lou Fritzley, and friend, Mr. Allan Reid. Weekend visitors with Mrs. L. Peifer were her, sons and fam­ ilies of Chatham, Mr, and Mrs. Jack Pelfei’ and Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Peifer. Sunday they held a family picnic at Bayfield. Monday visitors with Mrs. Peifer were Mrs. Harvey and friend, of London, and her sister and hus­ band, Mr. and Mrs. David Baird, of London. . Mr. and Mrs. Victor Kraft and family, of London, spent a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Kraft and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Restemayer. Mrs. Cora Gaiser and Donald motored to Frankford on Sunday where Mrs. Gaiser will spend a week with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Poland. Donald re­ turned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader spent Sunday at Waterloo with Lloyd’s sisters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Taylor and' Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Weiburg, Glen and Kenneth Rader, who had spent a few days there, returned with them. Mrs. John Rader and family and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rader of London were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kraft Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Melton Walper and girls of Ingersoll spent Sun­ day with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Fassold. Mr. and Mrs. John Donehey and two children of Chicago spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Goetz. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rader and family spent Sunday with Mr. and. Mrs. Wellwood Gill at Grand Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown of London spent Monday with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wein. Mrs. Emma Dietrich has re­ turned to her own home after spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Reste­ mayer. Her arm is out of the cast. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rader and Philip, Miss Shirley Haugn a.nd Miss Helen Nadiger spent the weekend in Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Miss Betty Lou Griffin of Stratford is vacationing with Mr. and Mrs. William Haugh. Mr. George Shoeffbuck spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hayter, aiding with the harvest. Mrs. Ervin Greb of Preston spent last week with her daugh­ ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Becker. Mr. and Mrs. Lome Becker and Diane, Mrs. Henry Becker, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ten Eyck of Kitchener spent the f weekend at Niagara Falls. Miss Nancy Wilbert is holiday­ ing in London with her cousins, Marian and Betty Newton. Sunday callers with Mrs. Lu­ cinda Mclsaac were Mr. James Mclsaac, Michael Marrs, Fred Conlin, Tom Martin, John Mc­ Intyre, all of Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Spear and family of Detroit have returned home after spending their vacation with their grandmother, Mrs. Lu­ cinda Mclsaac. Gail Spear is stay­ ing the remainder of vacation. Donald Mclsaac, William Bris- ley and Joseph Brenski, all of Detroit, are spending a week with Mrs. Lucinda Mclsaac. The second annual Daily Vaca­ tion Bible School was held in the J, A. D. McCurdy School at R.C.A.F. Station Centralia from July. 20 to July 31. The school was held each morning from nine to -11:30 and 119 protestant children registered. An average daily attendance of 105 was maintained over the 10-day per­ iod. The Protestant summer school was directed by the Protestant Chaplain, F/L N. L, Watson. The school consisted of 10 classes: two classes each for the five, six, seven and eight-year- olds, one class of nine-year-olds, and one class of combined 10 News of Elimville By MRS. ROSS SKINNER The Elimville W.M.S. and W.A. met in the church for their July meeting on Wednesday evening and entertained the Mission Band who were in charge of program, Diane Johns presiding, Grace Johns read scripture and Diane led in prayer, A vocal duet was sung by Mary Skinner and Grace Routly, Grace Johns played a piano solo, Sylvia Johns sang a solo and Diane Johns played a piano solo. Mrs. Ralph Batten, guest speaker, of Exeter, spoke on “Windows”. After repeating Mission Band Pledge, Mrs. William Johns, the president of W.M.S., took charge of the business. Roll call was answered by naming the minister who baptized you. Mrs. Calhoun of Russeldale is to be guest speaker on Mission­ ary Sunday, August 9, with Mrs. William Johns, Mrs. William Routly and Mrs. H. Delbridge to be in charge of worship service. The treasurers, Mrs. Franklin Skinner and Mrs. Gilbert Johns, will take the collection. ' The August meeting is to Lie in the evening of August 19 at the home of Mrs. Colin Gilfillan, Winchelsea, with Mrs. A. Cooper, Mrs. D. Skinner and Miss' D. Del- bridge in charge of the program. The W.A. president, Mrs. Ross Skinner, had charge of W.A. business and a baking sale at a later date was decided on. Miss Marion Long of Atwood is spending a few days’ holidays with Miss Grace Johns. Mr. and Mrs. Milan Nash and Brian of Montreal, Quebec, visit­ ed a few days with Mr. and Mrs. > Charles Stephen and family. The Elimville W.M.S. will hold .their missionary church service on Sunday at 10 a.m. Mrs. Col- quhoun of Cromarty will be guest speaker. Sunday School will fol­ low at the usual hour, 11 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Goodman Haig of Toronto spent the holiday weekend with Dr. and Mrs. Reilly. and 11 year-olds. Classes were supervised and instructed by the following teachers: Mrs. Honeg­ ger, Miss A- Ingram, Mrs. Mans- ley, Mrs. Slaght, Mrs. Mattice, Mrs, K- A. Williams, Mrs, N. L. Watson, Mrs. Paulson, Mrs W. Lewis and the. Padre. A mid-morning snack was supplied for all pupils each morn­ ing. The snack consisted of cookies and freshie. On the last day of the school an additional treat of ice cream was forth­ coming, The cookies were sup­ plied by the Airmen’s Mess of the Station. The curriculum followed con­ sisted of Bible study and worship, catechism and Bible stories, memory .work, songs, games and handwork. * The Roman Catholic children of R.C.A.F, Station Centralia also shared in the summer school program. Their section of the school was directed by the Roman Catholic Chaplain, Father P. A. Charbonneau. The total registration of their group num­ bered 72. The average attendance over the two-week period was 59. Four teachers looked aftei’ the three classes of pupils: Sister London, and Helen Dougherty Geraldine, and Sister Oliva from and Leise Plante.
