Relatives were present from Detroit, Michigan, Windsor, Dashwood, Exeter, Hensail, Lon­ don, Woodham, Brampton, Pal­ merston, Brodliagen, Bornholm, Mitchell, Stratford. Bill Jefferys was in charge of the sports. AU the children had I a good time winning prizes, i There was a ball game with Bill Stephan’s team beating Reinhold Kahl’s team. The prize for the eldest lady went to Mrs. Elligson, bf Brod- hagen; eldest man, Mr. George Siemon, Brodliagen. The young­ est baby was 16-day-old Albert Charles Corbett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett, Exeter. The couple coming the longest dis­ tance was Mr. and Mrs, Norman Rode, Detroit, Mich, The tables were well laden for dinner and supper. Those in charge of taking care of them were Mrs. Ed. Feltz, Mrs. Harry Mueggie and Mrs. John Siemon, Jr. After supper election of of­ ficers took place with Jack Cor­ bett re-elected president; secre­ tary, Mrs. Walter Rode; trea­ surer, Mr. Harry Mueggie. The table committee was Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Kahl, Mrs. Verna East and Mr .and Mrs. Laverne Wolfe. Members of the Sun­ day School will be in the choir and will provide special music. Mr. and Mrs. Meek and family, London, were visitors with Mrs. E. Knight on July 1. Mr. and Mrs. Kershaw, who have been visiting for the past two weeks with the former’s mother, left on Sunday for their home in the West. Mrs. E. Faulder, of Creditor., was a weekend visitor with Mrs. Clara Abbott. Mr. Reid Brown visited over the weekend with relatives at Lambeth. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lightfoot and Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. W. Northcott visited with relatives in Ridgetown over the weekend. Miss Maxine Godbolt, of Mit­ chell, is spending a few days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Godbolt. Mr, Jack Gates was a visitor last weak at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B, Gates. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pickering, of Shipka, were Friday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Wil­ liam Haddock, Rev. and Mrs. Burton ard holidaying for a month at. their summer home in the vicinity of the Goderich Summer School, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hodgins Thomas P. Elliott Local Tradesman Mr. Thomas P. Elliott, 90, died in Clinton July 2 after an illness of four years. Born in England, he came to Canada at the age of 7 with his parents who took up farming near Kirkton. $ Mr. Elliott resided in Exeter for over 60 years. He was a mason by trade and later worked at Jones and May’s Seed Store and Canadian Canuers. He was a member of Main St. United Church. , His wife, the. former Eliza Jane Ford, dien over 20 years ago. Surviving are four sons, Jack, of Exeter, Sam, of Milford, Mich., Truman, of London, Herman, of Sarnia, and a daughter, Mrs. Harry Gould, Clinton. A brother, William Elliott, of Kirkton, 27 grandchildren, 42 great grand­ children and 12 great great grandchildren also survive. The body rested at the Hopper- Hockey funeral home where the Rev. A, E. Holley conducted the funeral service on Sunday after­ noon. Burial was made in Kirk­ ton cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Elliott, Joe Brevard, William Inkly, Verne Smith, Elmer Rowe and Bill Elliott.
