The eve ning was made even more enjoy able than it might have been by the spontaneous aspect of the visit. The two bowlers phoned the Case farm around midnight to welcome the couple back from their honeymoon. They told Don ald they were on their way up for bacou and eggs, but Donald rather pointedly said they need not bother as everyone was in bed. Of- course, everyone couldn’t have been in bed .because Donald answered the phone, so the self- appointed welcoming committee drove up. The house was in darkness with the doors locked, but the visitors discovered Donald had thoughtfully left a window un fastened (not wanting to be too obvious in his welcome).
