EXETER ONTARIO Donald Donald Stirling Case has long been a source of humor (?) for this column — sometimes paying for free bowling schedules, some times just being his own obnox ious, aggravating self. It is only fair, with his end so near (he gets married on Saturday) that we pause briefly to lift our glasses in tribute to one who has contributed so much. His friends and teammates on the Big Six have been noticed of late with their yellow sweat shirts at half-mast, in rever ence to the passing of this fine sportsman and bon vivant (or perhaps shrinkage is the cause). Space does not permit us to list his sterling qualities, to dwell cm the outstanding example he has set for bowlers with his gen tle humor and quiet, unassuming manner. He has been the quin- tessnce of reliability and prompt ness. Stan Frayne captain of the Big Six, has been heard to say: “With the other members Of the team, I never know Whether they’ll be ten minutes early or five minutes early, but Case is ALWAYS at least 20 minutes late. Never falls!” Right now, odds are 50-50 as to Whether he will be late for the Wedding. Those who know Doh are betting on a tardy Entrance and friends 6f the bride-to-be are confidently taking all bets!
