The congregational meeting ol Brinsley United Church will be held in the Sunday School par­ lors on Thursday evening, Janu­ ary 29. A pot luck supper will be served by the ladies. Dr. and Mrs. Elmer Amos, of Brantford, spent the weekend with the former’s sister, Miss Mary B. Amos. Mr, and Mrs. Marwood Brest visited 3 friends recently in De­ troit, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Treve­ thick and children, St. Thomas, spent Saturday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Trevethick. Mr. and Mrs. Lin Craven dined with Mr. and Mrs. Alden Craven, Ailsa Craig, Sunday evening. Mrs. Bella Morgan, who has been spending time with her daughter, Mrs. James Wright, of West McGillivray, suffered a stroke and was removed to Vic­ toria Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Thomp­ son and children dined with Mrs. Beatrice Dixon Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. William Prest visited recently with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Marwood Prest, after Mr. Prest had been con­ fined to his home for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McLellan, of Strathroy, visited Sunday with the latter’s father, Mr. Fletcher Gower. The annual meeting was held in the United Church night. The neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Skinner are pleased to learn of the splendid recovery in St. Joseph’s Hospital of their little grandson, Billy Denham, of Kirkton, who was nearly suffocated with smoke, when a loaded clothes horse tipped against the stove in their home. Mrs. Horace Delbridge has re­ turned home after spending the past three weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Delbridge, of Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Ewart Pym, of Exeter, visited Sunday with Mrs. James Horne.
