Hot Dishes For Cold Days [What tastes better than a steaming casserole dish on a cold day? Well, I don’t know any­ thing that does, so I’m going to give you two recipes that favorites at our house. Mrs. Lizzie Williams Mr. and Mr. Mrs. and Mr. and is stay­ ing at the home of her sister, Mrs. Minnie Lewis. William Lewis Funeral services for the late William Lewis were conducted by the Rev. Gordon Parker in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Brins­ ley, on December 26. Thomas Stephenson and Son, of Ailsa Craig had charge of the funeral. The pallbearers were: Ernest Bice, David Holland, Edgar Hol­ land, Roland Neil, Clarence Neil, and Earl Neil, all nephews of the. deceased. The late Mr. Lewis was a life­ long resident of McGillivray township. For many years he was active in the work of his church. He was secretary of the cemetery committee for over 30 years. I-Ie was in his seventy-sixth year and had celebrated ' his golden wedding anniversary last January. Surviving besides his widow, the former Minnie Neil, are two sons, Dr. Elmer N. Lewis, of To­ ronto, and Alvin L. Lewis, of McGillivray township; also three sisters, Mrs. C. M. Holland, of Ailsa Craig; Mrs. A. Bice, Lon- Ion, and Mrs. C. Carpenter, of Cleveland. The funeral was held from his late residence, eight concession McGillivray township to St. Mary’s Anglican ^Church, Brins­ ley, with burial in cemetery.* * * NEW YEAR’S NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Jack and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Trevethick, St. Thomas. Whalen school children en­ joyed treats and also attended the show at the Lyric Theatre, Exeter, Monday afternoon. This pleasant afternoon was made available by the Exeter Kin’smen, Lions Club and Legion.
