THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2011.East Wawanosh students talk Christmas toys Those elves will be busy Students at East Wawanosh School have some creative ideas for Christmas, especially the Grade 1 class. The class recently sat down with The Citizen to say what they wanted for Christmas and what means the elves would use to make those wishes a reality. Shown are, back row, from left: Troy Coultes, The Grade 1/2 class at East Wawanosh Public School is excited for the holidays this year and was more than happy to sit down and tell The Citizen what they hoped to get for Christmas, and how they think the elves would make it. Here are some of their thoughts: “I want a Go-Go Pet for Christmas, they’re little pets that move. I think that the elves probably use a hammer and put it together by hitting it hard.” Chloe “I asked Santa to bring me some toy motor bikes for Christmas. His elves would use screwdrivers and put nails into the bike to make it stick together and then use screws to hold the wheels and rims together.” Tony “I hope Santa brings me an Easy- Bake Oven. I think they would make the handle, then get the trays to put in it then put the top on top of it and then put the bottom underneath the whole thing and hold it all together with magic and glue.” Charlotte “I would like a toy dog named Cookie. I think the elves would get some fluff and they would get a toy collar and they could make a leg and another leg and another leg and another leg and attach them to the body. They would glue gun the body to the head and legs and then use the fur to make the ears. Then they would glue the eyes and mouth on at the same time.” Eden “I want some jewelery and My Little Pet Shops and some slippers. I think Santa would buy the jewelery and the slippers, but the elves would make the My Little Pet Shop things by painting them and decorating them and then putting the eyes, nose and mouth on all the little things with glue and paint.” Kailey “I want a toy plow. The elves would need to get wood and metal, but I hope they use mostly metal because I got a John Deere tractor last year and they should have metal still from making that. They would use small screws and a small bit screwdriver to put it together.” Connor “I want a road hockey goalie helmet for Christmas, but I don’t know how they would make it. I think they would use tools like a screwdriver, a hammer and a wrench to put the stretch straps in the back and then attach it and the mask to the helmet with glue and screws and bolts and nuts.” Troy “I want clothes for my Maple Leaf doll. They would use sewing machines with pink, baby blue, lime green and purple thread to make the clothes. Then they would put buttons, zippers, hats and mitts and sweaters together with coats, pants and a dress and then use magic to make sure they stick together.” Alycia “I hope Santa brings me a unicorn Webkin for Christmas, and I think they would probably stitch it together. They might sew it though, and use a sewing machine or something like that. They would make it with normal cloth and fill it with feathers.” Olivia “I want Zoo Balls and a Barbie Princess Charm School Toy for Christmas. I think that the elves would find some things like plastic and magnets and use them to make the Zoo Balls. They would paint the outside with colours like pink and purple and then wrap it in a case and slide it down a space slide and it gets dropped into Santa’s bag. Then Santa waves his hand over it to make it work and drops it off at my house.” Paisley “I want a makeup kit for Greetings from the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry Back row, from left: David Baker, John Smuck, Jamie McCallum, Neil Warwick, Jamie Heffer.
