MacLellan said there was no practice or event in a previous term of Huron County Council that triggered the changes he’s proposing. He says because councillors are paid by taxpayers, they deserve to know what they’re up to and what they’re paying them to do.In his first week as warden, MacLellan said he felt it was time to run for the position because he finally had the time to dedicate to it. MacLellan has said people have told him he should run in past years, but he never felt comfortable, or ready, enough to do so, in that he wouldn’t have the time to fullycommit himself to the position. “I didn’t run on any specific grounds and I didn’t have an axe to grind,” he said. “I just finally had the time to dedicate to the job.”MacLellan says that with the county’s upcoming organizational review, it could be a unique year, but that he is ready to tackle whatever comes up.“I hope I do a good job for the county. I’m going to put the effort into it,” he said. “I hope it’s a good year for Huron County.” 44229 Amberley Road west of Molesworth 519-291-4643 www.old86famersmarket.com Monday - Saturday 9 am - 6 pm Sunday 10 am - 5 pm 20%off Home & Garden Ware and Christmas Décor December 15th - 18th Featuring Local Products Christmas Patio Pots Expanded home décor and antique area.
