Ginn was miffed, however, by Van Diepenbeek’s disappointment over something Ginn felt he had helped create. He was also concerned aboutthe timing and he didn’t know whythe lawsuit began nearly a year afterthe election. “It took five to six months to get it to the point where you could take it to court,” Van Diepenbeek said. Stewart, however, was confused as to why it took that long, but said hecouldn’t comment fairly, as it wasnot him who was doing the filing.“I can’t explain the timing,” Stewart said. “I’m not going to comment on how another lawyer does his work.” Ginn then stated a “fact” about the population numbers provided by MPAC, saying that it was a fact that they are flawed. Goderich Mayor Deb Shewfelt, however, took exception to that fact, saying that it wasn’t actually a fact.“That’s your opinion,” Shewfeltsaid. “I don’t know why we’rediscussing this. There’s been a decision made by the court.” Shortly after speaking, Shewfelt stormed out of the room and Bluewater’s Bill Dowson urged Warden Neil Vincent to take control of the situation as it was gravitating towards being out of order. Vincent said the last time the composition of Huron County Council was discussed by councilwas in January at a Committee of theWhole meeting. He said moreinformation was supposed to come back, at which time council would debate it once again. It was never brought back up. “I do not want debate going back and forth across the floor,” Vincent said. Vincent said if anyone was feeling the crunch, it was him and the Representatives disappointed with proceedings A cheesy photo op Kathryn Chalmers, right, a Blyth Public School student enjoyed learning some cooking techniques as part of Tech Day at Central Huron Secondary School late last month, an event that introduces Grade 8 students to some courses they may be interested in once they get to high school.
