Ed made the lit-tle house on the corner of John andHardwood Line his home for the lastseveral years. A grin and a wavewere his trademark as he passed byin his little truck, heading out to hisbusy life.His family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 2 -4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at theMcCallum and Palla Funeral Homein Goderich. The funeral service willbe held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 11a.m. Ed was an avid member ofHealthy Hearts in Goderich anddonations can be provided toHealthy Hearts in Ed’s memory.Ed will be sadly missed and fond-ly remembered by this community.On Saturday, Nov. 26 the AuburnPlayground Committee celebratedthe completion of its project andwith the assistance of Huron-BruceMPP Lisa Thompson, members ofthe Playground Committee, MayorJim Ginn (Central Huron),Councillor and Committee memberMarg Anderson (Central Huron),Reeve Ben Van Diepenbeek(Ashfield-Wawanosh-Colborne),
Councillor Connie Black (ACW),
Deputy-Reeve David Riach (North
Huron), Peggy Menzies (Ontario
Trillium Fund) and the children of
the community, the ribbon was cut
for the grand opening of the play-
ground. With approximately 40 peo-
ple in attendance cake and refresh-
ments were served after speeches
were made and the ribbon was cut.
The beautiful cake was donated by
Stephanie Ohm. Despite the chill in
the wind it was a successful morning
and the Playground Committee
thanks everyone for coming out to
celebrate with them.
All ladies are welcome to the
UCW Christmas Dessert Meeting on
Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the
basement at Knox United Church,
Auburn. There will be special musi-
cal entertainment. Please bring,
wear or perform a fond memory of
Christmas past. Come and bring a
friend! Any non-perishable food
items would be appreciated, to help
make Christmas a little better for
those less fortunate. Ladies are
reminded to please turn in their
Talent Money, to Laura May, Marie
or Marilyn. Thank you for support-
ing this UCW project.
The Auburn and District Lions
Club will welcome Santa Claus for
breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 9
a.m. to noon. Breakfast will be
served at the Auburn Community
Hall with the proceeds going to the
Huron Christmas Bureau.

A crowd of children waited patiently alongside local dignitaries and volunteers for the new
Auburn playground equipment to be officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Nov.
