The Shoot party was held at the
Belgrave Community Centre on
Friday, Nov. 25 with six tables in
play.
The winners were: high pink card,
Muriel Taylor; second pink card,
Mary McIntosh; most shoots, Ron
Taylor; high white card, Bill
Nethery; second high white card,Lillian Appleby; most shoots whitecard, Stuart Chamney. The next Shoot party is on Friday,
Dec. 9. Everyone is welcome.
The community extends
congratulations to Tim Procter, son
of Don and Kathy Procter upon
receiving his Professional Engineer
licence as a software engineer in
Ottawa on Oct. 5.
Florence McArter greeted
worshippers on Sunday, Nov. 27 at
Knox United Church.
Rev. Tom Murray welcomed
everyone. Celebrations mentioned
were Don Procter’s birthday and
Ann and John Clark’s anniversary.
Connie Shiell reported on the beef
supper and thanked everyone who
had helped in any way.
The flowers in the front of the
sanctuary were placed by Dorothy
and Glen Coultes in loving memory
of Dorothy’s brother, Jim Taylor of
Cambridge who passed away.
After the choir sang “Come Now,
O God of Hope” accompanied by
Ann Clark, Dorothy Coultes read the
advent reading and Alicia Coultes lit
the Candle of Hope. The
congregation sang the first verse of,
“A Candle is Burning”. The senior
choir sang, “Come, Receive God’s
Blessing”.
After the singing of “As a Fire is
meant for Burning”. Rev. Tom read
scripture from Mark 13: 24-37.
God’s word was entitled, “Making a
Clean Sweep”. We need to share our
faith and love with someone that we
care for. We need to pay attention to
what God wants us to do and take
the faith that God gives to us each
day. Has your life been swept clean?
Marlene Procter and Don Procter
took up the offering.
Ken Procter assisted Rev. Tom
Murray with the reading of the
Banquet of Advent Hope and the
Great Thanksgiving and the
Breaking and Pouring and Serving
as printed in the bulletin. Session
members taking part in the serving
of Communion were: Pat Hunking,
Allen Walker, John Campbell, KenProcter, Don Procter and BrianPotter.On Friday, Dec. 2 at noon there is
a community Christmas potluck
dinner. Please bring a salad, potato
dish or dessert and your own dishes
and cutlery. Turkey, dressing and
gravy will be provided. Donation
box available to offset costs and
donations. Everyone is welcome.
A large number of Campbell
relatives gathered on Sunday, Nov.
27 at Blyth United Church lower
hall. This year Rod and Debbie
Ansley and family were in charge.After welcoming everyone NancyJardin said grace. Everyone enjoyeda bountiful buffet dinner. Santa
Claus arrived on time and handed
out treats to all the children.
The afternoon was spent with
games and contests and visiting. The
day was brought to a close with hugs
and wishes for a happy holiday
season.
The community extends sincere
sympathy to Dorothy and Glen
Coultes in the loss of Dorothy’s
brother, Jim Taylor of Cambridge.

WINTER A SAFE ONE
The Council of the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry hereby requests the
cooperation of the residents regarding the parking of cars and other
vehicles, and the depositing of snow on municipal roads during the
period in which snow clearing operations are necessary.
It is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act, Section 170 (12) to: “Park
or stand a vehicle on a highway in such a manner as to interfere with
the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the highway.”
Also, Section 181 states: “No person shall deposit snow or ice on a
roadway without permission in writing to do so from the Ministry or the
Road Authority responsible for the Maintenance of the Road.”
Parking is not permitted on any street or road within the Municipality of
Morris-Turnberry between the hours of 2 am and 6 am from November
1st to April 15th. Violators will be ticketed and may have their vehicles
towed and impounded.
Neither the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry nor the ‘Snow Plow
operators’ will be held responsible for damage done to vehicles or
mailboxes on the Municipal Road Allowance.
Your help and cooperation in these matters is greatly appreciated
and will aid in a safer winter for all.
