Walking for Hope
Brussels and area residents pulled on their running shoes to raise money for the Habitat for
Humanity build in Brussels on Saturday Oct. 1 with the Henry Exel Walk for Hope. The walk,
which served as a fundraiser for the build, was held in memory of Exel who passed away in
a vehicle collision last year. Exel’s dream was to have the next Huron County Habitat for
Humanity build in Brussels. (Vicky Bremner photo)

Walk for Hope a godespite mitt-weather
The thing that makes autumn so
interesting is the changing days.
When you wake you need to put
your nose right outside to see if it’sshorts or long underwear you should
be wearing that day.
So mitts were in order on Saturday

up past the arena, a tour of the house
that love built, on to the dam, past
the firehall, around the library, on to
the school, back to Turnberry Street
and return to the Optimist house
where the Lion’s Club offered
nourishment to the supporters.
