Cut for cancer
Five-year-old Ava Ansley of Blyth had her hair cut short as
part of the Horsin’ Around for Childhood Cancer fundraiser
held at the Clinton Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 11. Ansley
has been growing her hair as long as she’s had it and cut
11 inches of it to make a wig for a young cancer patient.

The Huron-Bruce Family
Coalition Party Constituency
Association is proud to announce the
candidate for the upcoming
provincial election.
The candidate, Christine Schnurr,
grew up on a dairy farm between
Walkerton and Mildmay and now
attends University of Guelph where
she is obtaining her degree.
Christine believes that the Family
Coalition Party (FCP) is Ontario’s
only pro-family, fiscally-responsible
political party. The family is the
basic building block of society
raising our next generation of
citizens and leaders.
All other parties claim to be
concerned about the family, but
continually pass legislation that
discriminates against the family -
placing stress on the family, leading
to increased family breakdown. The
FCP has a platform with policies that
empower and strengthen families:
childcare that best suits the family;
honouring the education decisions of
all parents, encouraging families to
choose family-supporting senior
care options that work best for aging
family members.
The FCP will also get government
spending under control – reducing
our bloated bureaucracy and
provincial debt.
Christine has unconditional
support from the local riding and
provincial party. The riding
president Bob Chesney said, “We are
overjoyed to have a young,
energetic, enthusiastic person
representing us in this election. We
know that Christine is concerned
with the well-being of those in
Huron-Bruce and will give nothing
but her best in serving the
community”.
Linda Freiburger, communications
director stated, “Christine is a great
person who is always there to help a
friend and in the community in any
way possible,” she said. “With
Christine’s dedication and
determination, I am proud to have
her as our candidate and look
forward to working with her in this
election”.
