Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
9 were 1,955 cattle, 666 lambs and
goats.
On Tuesday fed steers and heifers
sold on a strong active market.
Choice steers and heifers sold $108
to $113. Second cut sold $100 to
$107. Cows sold steady. On
Thursday veal sold on a very strong
active market with holstein veal
selling $1 to $2 easier than last
week’s stronger market while beef
veal traded steady. Light lambs sold
$5 to $10 higher, while heavy lambs
sold on an active trade at barely
steady prices. Sheep sold barely
steady and goats sold on a steady
market. On Friday calves and
yearlings sold on a fully steady
market.
There were 115 steers on offer.
