After looking at a draft newsletter for the history book that suggested completion would be in the spring of 2012, Councillor Neil Warwick noted that it’s obviously going to take a year longer than planned to finish the book. The book doesn’t have to be perfect, Warwick said. “Maybe we should just say ‘enough’, the book is cancelled and we’ll give your money back (to those who have prepaid),” he said. But Mayor Paul Gowing noted the municipality has a large investment in the project and has received grant money on the basis of the book being produced. “I think the public is waiting for the book,” Gowing said. “People are interested.” When Warwick said he’d like to see a plan for the completion of the book, Gowing promised that he and Deputy-Mayor Jason Breckenridge would bring the matter up at the next history book committee meeting.
