The Old Town Hall was a hive
of activity Wednesday' evening,
Dec. 22 when the Brownies,
Cubs, Rangers and Sea Scouts
and all their leaders entertained
about 75 parents and residents.
A tit by the Cubs was

Men. This skit was especially
good as it was all adlibbed by
the Rangers.
The Sea Scouts did a skit on a
computer introduced by Paul
West, and starring Peter
MacVean, Jeff Mayman, Paul
Westlake and Mike Gozzard.
Several interludes of
Christmas Carols were sung and

provided lunch and refreshments
and the children gifts were
handed out by Joe Mayman, Ted

in the Christmas theme and the

very fitting finale to the evenings
enjoyable activities.

POWER SKATING — the key
to better hockey, written by
John Wild is, a book that any
boy can understand. It isn't a big
book but is well illustrated and
dispells any idea that power
skating is the same as figure
skating. It ain't so!
Power skating teaches balance
and proper weight shift and
proves that skating is also a
science where it is not only leg
action but co-ordination of all
the body muscles. To learn the
art of power skating is beneficial
not only to hockey players, but
any boy, girl or adult who wants
to skate well.
It took many years of
studying related sports; body
movement and skating
techniques of the great hockey
players to develop a teaching
program.
Anyone from the age of six
to an experienced hockey player
can be taught. Hockey playing is
improved by understanding
balance and movement that
saves a waste of energy.
Bay field Power Skating has
just begun on Saturday mornings
at 9:00 a.m.
