The Fathers won the game 9-3. The Flying Nun on skates made a brief appearance Thursday night at the Old Timers-Flying Fathers hockey game. The nun had the opportunity to score on a penalty shot but her habit seemed to get in the way and she missed. Clinton t ,News-Record, Thprgiay , December 23, 1971 7 Flying Fathers delight large crowd The flying Flynn was almost as much of a show at the game as the Flying Fathers. Hugh Flynn, the reeve of Hullett Township, played goal for the old timers and though he was beaten nine times, certainly put on a good show. This Father sprouted some extra hair suddenly during the game after receiving a complaint that his bald dome was creating a glare that bothered the goaltender. German player of the month Don Kay, chairman of the Clinton Recreation Committee presented Fred German with a shirt of Herman's Men's Wear during Friday night's game. Each month the club management chooses a player they feel has contributed most to the team through outstanding play. German, who won six games and lost only one in the month while playing goal for the Mustangs and leading them to first place in the standings, was chosen player of the month for November. To our many friends and valued customers, we sincerely say THANK YOU for the opportunity to have been able to serve you in this year 1971.
