Ontario Street UCW holds successful
Christmas tea and bazaar

There was plenty on hand
to interest children
Lovely preserves and
vegetables were on sale
Ontario Street United Church
Women held their annual
Christmas Tea and Bazaar on
Saturday, Dec. 4.
The stage or the auditorium
was decorated with tt miniature
red sleigh holding a wee baby
being pushed by a life-sized doll,
over the snow towards a
sparkling Christmas tree.
Rev. Lawrence Lewis opened
the bazaar, which was attended
by a large number eager to buy
from the gaily decorated booths.
Guests were greeted at the door
by Mrs. Norman Tretvartha
U.C.W. president, Mrs, L, Lewis,
Mrs. Frank McGregor and Mrs.
George Wright.
The main tea table was
centred with an arrangement of
poinsettia, holly and Christmas
bells. Pouring tea were: Mrs.
Brock Olde, Mrs. Fern Coleman,
Mrs. Mervyn Batkin and Mrs.
Roberta Plumsteel.
Tea table conveners were:
Mrs. Murray Forbes, Mrs. .Azt
Colson, Mrs. Carman McPherson.
Booth conveners were:
sewing, Mrs. A. McMurray;
aprons, Mrs. E. Trick;
handicrafts, Mrs. Harvey
Johnston; touch and take, Mrs.
John Lavis; Christmas booth,
Mrs. Roy Wheeler; produce, Mrs.
G. Colclough; baking, Mrs.
Milton Wiltse; candy, Messenger
Group; explorers, Miss 0.
Johnson; kitchen, Mrs. Gordon
Richardson. decorating, Mrs.
Reg Smith, Mrs. Cale Doucette
and Mrs. A. Aiken.

The baking table is always popular
