The physical education
department at GDCI is
sponsoring a Sports Medicine
Clinic Friday, December 10 at
the school to which all coaches,
trainers and teachers that axe
involved in any way with
athletes and athletic injuries are
invited.
!`An outstanding group of
speakers will be on hand to
impart their knowledge of
injuries common to the growing
athlete," says Wayne B, Horner,
athletic director at GDCI.
"Sections on protective
equipment, administration
problems and coaching problems
will also be presented. Advanced
taping techniques will be
demonstrated along with
equipment displays,"
Dr. A. B. Deathe, GDCI team
physician, will be one of the
principal speakers. Others will be
Mert Prophet, head trainer for'
the Toronto Argonaut Football
Club; Dr. Harvey Bailey,
orthopaedic surgeon from
Victoria Hospital in London;
John Cochrane, director of
education for Huron County;
Dr. John Theoret, team
physician for the London Lords
Football Club; Jim Edgar,
athletic director and head
football coach for the Sarnia
Northern Collegiate and
Vocation School; and Dr.
Robert Nicholson, pediatrician,
War Memorial Children's
Hospital, London.
The two subjects to be
discussed by Dr. Deathe will be

Alison Lobb was hostess for
the November meeting of the S.
S. No. 4 Community Club. The
president Harriett Tyndall led
the members in repeating the
Creed and The Lord's Prayer she
then read a poem "Stay With Us
Autumn".
The secretary, Alison Lobb,
read the minutes of the October
meeting and Millie Lobb read
the treasurer's report. Twelve
members and one visitor
answered roll call.
The December meeting will be

Skating judges' school sponsored
by the Western Ontario Section
of the Canadian Figure Skating
Association was held at Clinton
Community Centre,
Mrs. Ursula Gash of St,
Catharines, Mr, R. Blatz and
Miss Linda Coker of Waterloo
conducted the elassroom and
practical ice sessions which
covered first and second figure
tests as well as Junior and Senior
Bronze dance tests.
Judges and trial judges were in
attendance from Stratford,
Teeswater, Goderich, St. Marys,
Walkerton, Kincardine, Tiverton
and Clinton.
These schools are essential if a
sufficient number of judges are
to. be made available to test the
2,000 figure skaters in the area.
The school was arranged by
the Interclub committee and
hosted by Clinton Figure
Skating Club.

The Hall of the Christian
Reformed Church was crowded
last Friday night as many people
came to look at and buy the
variety of articles for sale at the
annual bazaar. The baking table
especially was a popular place, as
well as the big grab-box for
children.
Every item was sold, even the
"unsellable" being disposed of
by auction.
The winner of the turkey was
Mrs. , G. Shoemaker of RR 4,
Goderich; the winner of the
quilt, Mrs. H. Howard of 56
Gibbings Street, Clinton; the
winner of the cake, Mrs. T.
Kolktnan of RR 3, Goderich.
Bazaar profits reached
$1,100, half of which goes to
the Clinton and District
Christian School. Thanks is
extended to all who helped in
any way to make this bazaar a
success,

Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Colclough returned home last
week from an interesting threie
and a half week trip to British
Columbia and Saskatchewan.
While in B.C, they visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon C. Loat,
the latter being a niece of Mrs.
Colclough. They also visited
with Mr. Colclough's sister, Mrs.
Frank (Effie) Churchill. It was
fifty-eight years since they had
last seen each other. While there,
Mrs. Churchill's daughter and
her family held a Christmas
dinner party for them.
In Saskatchewan, they visited
with Mrs. Colclough's brother,
Roy Lockwood, and with several
nieces and nephews. They also
visited the site of the Gardiner
Darn which is under
construction and Diefenbaker
Lake.

Mrs. A. C. Kelly of Palo Alto,
California is visiting this week
with her mother, Mrs. J. A.
McGill at Clinton Public
Hospital.

The meeting was closed with
the benediction. Marilyn Forbes

in McKay Hall," reports Murray
MacDonald, publicity. "We also
need people. This is an open
invitation."
A musical evening is planned
for Wednesday, December 8 at 8
pm at The Barn on Bruce Street
in Goderich,
"Come, listen to the score and
meet other interested and
interesting people," says Mr.
MacDonald, "There are lots of
main parts -nd lots of chorus
roles to be cast, so come out."
