In reply to another question,
Mr. Lewis stressed that if the
N.D.P. formed the new Ontario
Government, they would
immediately begin steps to take
over the car insurance industry
and stressed that "the N.D.P.
will not be intimidated by those
already controlling the business
and those setting such high
premium costs."

LISTEN GANG,
The main issues of this
campaign are economic, N.D.P.
Provincial Leader, Stephen
Lewis, told a news conference at
Wingham last Tuesday. The
economics of health insurance,
rising car insurance costs, the
cost of milk and/or the cost of
gas are all matters of economics
that must be dealt with.
The Provincial Party Leader
was in Western Ontario as part
of a flying campaign tour of the
province. He arrived Wednesday
afternoon at Sky Harbour in
Goderich and travelled by car to
Wingham where he taped a
television interview for a
C.K.N.X. public affairs
programme and held a press
conference,
Mr. Lewis also attacked the
educational bureaucracy that has
resulted from the present system
of County School Boards as
established by the Davis
government. "We should
definitely spend a large portion
of the tax dollars on education,
since it provides one of the most
important returns on any
provincial investment," he said,
"but the N.D.P. would

Ooopsl Either someone goofed, or they've invented a new word
in this year's election campaign. The billboard on the side of the
Clinton Electric Shop declares that one of the local candidates is
a "ood" man. Either the billboard company made a mistake, or
it's a plot to get more attention thought up by some smart
campaign chairman.

Lewis explained that this policy
was confined to those areas most
affecting the public and the
province as a whole. He
mentioned such areas as paper,

gasoline industry as related to
