Announced earlier this summer, construction began almost immediately with the completion scheduled for November. The plant, which will produce precision carbon cutting tools, will employ 12 persons when it opens. The meeting, sponsored by the Huron County Federation of Agriculture, will see Murray Gaunt, Liberal candidate for Huron-Bruce, Paul Carroll, N.D.P. candidate in Huron and Charles MacNaughtpn, Progessive Conservative Candidate in Huron. General topic will be "farm policy for farmers",but the meeting is open to the public an other topics are likely to arise. Meeting time is 9:00 p.m. Due to a marked increase in enrolment in the Home Economics Division, Molly McGhee, Associate Principal of Centralia College, has announced the appointment of additional seasonal staff in the Fashion Retailing and Merchandizing Option. Morris Fogelman, who will teach Fashion Retailing and Merchandizing, .is the first male to join the Home Economics Division as a seasonal lecturer. A master tailor and cutter from England, Mr. Fogelman has had many years experience in the clothing industry. He was chief buyer of men's wear for the Robert Simpson Co. Ltd. in London and owned a well-known children's wear chain there. A new course, Fashion Promotion and Fashion Show Production, will be taught by Paula Hewitt. The owner of a model and charm school in Lambeth, Mrs. Hewitt has produced many fashion shows in southwestern Ontario and has trained many employees for several London firms. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the Traphagen School of Fashion Design in New York City, Mrs. Frances Howey will teach Pattern Drafting and Design. Alie Twynstra, a native of the Netherlands and now of Ailsa Craig, will teach Tailoring and Advanced Clothing Techniques. A graduate in Haute Couture from The Hague School of Fashion, Mrs. Twynstra taught in a similar college program in The Hague. Helen Klopper, an Australian, has been appointed Dean of Women in charge of Perth Hall. An Occupational and Art Therapist, Miss Klopper was formerly on the staff of the Royal Perth Rehabilitation Hospital in Perth, Australia, and at Mme Vanier Children's Services, and Talbot Theater in London. MENZIES Over two hundred persons watched an exciting parade of Fall Fashions in the Public School Auditorium Thursday evening, The clothes, shown by The Old Mill, in Blyth, were modelled by 17 of the Morning Glories. Mrs. Andrew Mowatt and Mrs, Harold Wise, president of the Morning Glories, received at the door. Mrs. Glenyce Snell, owner of The Old Mill, described in detail the fabric and cut of the leather, felt and fur ensembles. Mrs. Peggy Menzies introduced the models and with the assistance of the younger generation, conducted 13 lucky draws, These were made possible through the generosity of Smiths Office Supplies, Roy and Shirl's Supermarket, Mrs. Mary Trick (Avon Representative); La Patrician Hair Styling; Clinton Farm Supply; Bartliffs Bakery; Anstett Jewellers; Newcombe's Drugs Ltd.; Irene's Laundromat; Wallace's McKillop re vises BY WILMA OKE At the McKillop Township Council meeting on Monday, court of revision was held on the Leonhardt drain. The "B" branch is to be deleted from the report because of an appeal. The by-law was given third and final reading and the tender was let to the Hanna and Hamilton Construction Co. of Listowel for $1,610. Work will commence within the next two weeks. The McQuaid municipal drain is to be left open after the majority of ratepayers requested it. Engineer H. M. Gibson of Mr. R. F. Walsh, General Manager and Secretary of the Ontario Furniture Manufacturers Association announced in his industry bulletin of September 29 that the furniture industry has been named as the next In line for close scrutiny by the Air Management Branch. In G?der to acquaint Ontario manufacturers with impending requirements, The Wesley-Willis UCW "Magic Circle" met at the home of Mrs, Ted Davies Tuesday, September 21, with 19 members present. Mrs. J. Nediger welcomed the ladies and read a poem "If Jesus Came To Your House." Altalind Rogers took charge of the devotional period. Mrs. Farel Periabaker read Psalm 27, Mrs. Florence Oliver read the lesson and led in prayer, Hymn 577 was sung, then Mrs. Rogers told the history of Harvest and -closed the devotions with prayer. Mrs. Bessie Steep read the minutes of the September meeting. Miss Billie Stewart gave the treasurer's report, Mrs. Nediger reported on the dinner for the Cancer Society. Correspondence was read and the offering taken. Mrs. Nediger asked the ladies to collect good used clothing for a bale to be packed in November and asked them to remember the Presbyterial at Bayfield October 15 at 9:30. The Thankoffering meeting is to be October 24 in Wesley-Willis Church when Miss Bond will speak of her experiences in Nicaragua this past summer. The Kris Kringle Koffee Klatch and Boutique are to be in the church October 30 -at 10 a.m. Mrs. Nediger closed With the poem "Do You Just Belong?" The guest speaker, Mrs. Jean sealskin boots gave a total picture of warmth for winter outings. A rich brown suede pant suit caused a stir—worn by Marie McDonald, the fitted jacket and flair leg gave the ensemble an air of distinction. A scene stealing midi coat was worn on stage by Marian Stevenson—a flame colour of calfskin plush suede, shearling lined and hooded. Hot pants and ponchos dominated the show for the younger set, the hot pants made of brown pig suede, and the sweaters and ponchos of Aaron wool. Hats, soft kid gloves and Liberty scarves complimented most of the ensembles. The audience was treated to a comedy number at intermission—sung by Mary Hearn She followed with several folk songs during the programme, while modelling a muskrat coat. lets con I 'wet ti engineer for this drain is C.
