Goshen United Church was
decorated with candelabra and
arrangements of white gladioli
and yellow shasta mums on
Sept. 4, 1971 for the wedding of
Lawrence Gordon Bieber of
Exeter and Bonita Marie
Armstrong of RR 3, Bay field.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Bieber of
Exeter and the bride, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
J. Armstrong, RR 3, Bayfield.
Rev. Heuther was assisted in
the double-ring ceremony by Mr.
Morrison. The bride, given away
by her father, wore a silk
organza gown with Victorian
neckline, Empire waistline and
trimmed with appliques of Swiss
guipure lace with a lilac satin
ribbon running through the trim.
The Juliet sleeves were
wrist-length. The A-line skirt
dropped into a chapel-length
train. Her fingertip veil was held
by a cluster of flowers.
The bride carried a white
prayer book accented with
yellow sweetheart roses and
stephanotis.
Matron of honour was Mrs.
Linda Talbot, Goderich, sister of
the bride and bridesmaids Were
Mrs. Elaine Parson, Exeter, sister
of the groom and Miss Jean
Glen, Clinton. They wore lilac
culotte gowns with Victorian
neckline. Daisies circled the
long, cuffed sleeves and the
collar. They carried crescent
bouquets of yellow shasta
mums,

Goderich, brother-in-law of the
bride, and ushers were Wayne
Parsons, Exeter, brother-in-law
of the groom, and Fred
Armstrong, RR 1, Varna, cousin
of the bride. Organist was Mrs.
Bruce Keys and soloist was Mr.
Peter Postill ,who sang Wedding
Prayer and This is our Day. f
Following the ceremony a
dinner was held in the basement
of the church and a reception at
Zurich Community Centre, The
bride's mother received guests at
the reception. She wore a
I o ng -sl e eyed, peach-Coloured
dress with chiffon covering,
white accessories and a
lime-green cymbidium orchid.
She was assisted by the
groom's mother, wearing a crimp
polyester dress with blue
background and white flowered
pattern. She had white
accessories and a corsage of
sweetheart roses.
For the wedding trip to
Northern Ontario, the bride
chose a hotpants outfit of purple
crushed velvet with matching
vest, navy accessories and a
corsage of white roses.
The couple will live in
Bayfield.
The bride was entertained at
showers given by Mrs, Wayne
Parsons, Exeter; Mrs. John
Talbot, Goderich; the Goshen
U C .W. and Mrs. Allan
Armstrong, RR 1, Varn'a.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bieber
entertained the wedding party
following the rehearsal.
Baskets of white and pink
gladioli decorated Knox
Presbyterian Church, Palmerston
on Sept. 11, 1971 for the
wedding of Diane Catherine
McKenna, Palmerston and
Robert Gerald Emmerson, also
of Palmerston.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Batten, RR 1,
Selkirk and the groom, the son
of Mrs. Laura Emmerson and the
late Harold Emmerson of
Clinton. Rev. A. Young
officiated at the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a sleeveless,
empire-waisted,' A-line gown of
peau de soie, trimmed with
dainty embroidered lace on the
bodice and neckline, over which
she wore a matching
long-sleeved, lace-trimmed coat,
which formed a train. Her
shoulder-length veil was held in
place with seeded pearls and a
floral headpiece, She carried a
heart-shaped bouquet of yellow
roses.
Mrs. Roger Will, Palmerston,
was matron of honour. She wore
a floor-length gown of shaded
blue chiffon over white taffeta.
She wore shaded, button mums
in her hair and carried matching
sprayed flowers.
The bridesmaids, Mrs. William
Dewar, Halifax, and Miss Lucy
McKenna, RR. 1, Selkirk, wore
shaded coral chiffon over white
taffeta, floor-length gowns. They
wore button mums in their hair

Little Terri-Lee Horne,
Burlington, niece of the bride,
was the flowergirl and was
dressed identically to the matron
of honour. She wore a blue
velvet ribbon in her hair and
carried matching sprayed
flowers.
Groomsman was Murray
MacEwan, Bothwell, Ont, and
ushers were Ken Engelstad,
Palmerston and Peter McKenna,
RR 1, Selkirk. Troy Osbourne,
Burlington, nephew of the bride,
was ringbearer.
Soloists at the ceremony were
Mrs. Burt Dixon and Miss Mary
Jo Dixon of Harriston.
Receiving guests at the
reception at the Twin Gables
hotel, the bride's mother wore a
pink, print dress and pink coat
with brown accessories and
white orchid corsage. She was
assisted by the groom's mother
wearing a light blue dress and
coat with matching accessories
and a white orchid.
For the wedding trip to
British Columbia and California,
the bride changed to a
multi-coloured print, polyester,
floor-length gown with gold
accessories.
Out-of-town guests attended
from Dartmouth and Halifax,
Nova Scotia, Clinton, London,
Toronto, Galt, Lindsay,
Brantford, Hamilton, Burlington
and Bothwell.
The couple will reside in
Palmerston.
HAYMAN-
St. Andrew's United Church,
Kippen, was decorated with
baskets of white chrysan-
themums and gladioli and
candelabra on Saturday, August
21, when Margaret Jo-Ann
Aldwinckle and John MacKay
Hayman exchanged vows and
rings before Rev. P. Packman.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Yeoman Aldwinckle,
Brucefield, and the late Yeoman
Aldwinckle. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. John S.
Hayman, Belleville.
Mrs. Barbara Livermore,
organist, accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. Fred McGregor,
who sang "Wedding Prayer" and
"I'll Walk Beside You".
The bride, given in marriage
by her uncle, Robert
Aldwinckle, Ottawa, wore a
white, floor-length gown of
sheer over taffeta with lace
bodice and short, puffed lace
sleeves, The veil formed a
cathedral-length train and was
trimmed with lace matching the
bodice of the dress. She carried
pink roses with ivy.
Maid of honour was Miss
Sherran Burdge, Owen Sound,
who wore a full-length, mauve,
crystal sheer gown styled with
empire waist accented by mauve
velvet ribbon. A ruffle
highlighted the cuffs of the long
puffed sleeves and the collar.
She carried a nosegay of white
daisy chrysanthemums,
The bridesmaids, gowned
identically to the maid of
honour, were Miss Bonnie
Dalrymple, Brucefield; Mrs.
Gayle Detenbeck, Mississauga,
sister of the groom; and Miss
Barbara Aldwinckle, Varna,
cousin of the bride.
Groomsman was Eric Gallant,
Toronto, and ushers were Gerald
Aldwinckle, Brucefield, brother
of the bride; Barry Detenbeck,
Mississauga, brother-in-law of
the groom; and Paul Hayman,
Belleville, brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held at the Huron
Centennial School, Brucefield,
where the bride's mother
received the guests. She wore a
mauve, silk crimplene dress with
lace trim and matching coat. Her
corsage was a white gardenia
with heather. She was assisted
by the groom's mother who
wore a pink dress and matching
jacket. She wore a corsage of
pink and white baby roses.
For travelling to Muskoka,
the bride wore a long-sleeved
figured dress with plain
sleeveless coat in biege and
brown with an orchid corsage.
The couple will reside in
Exeter.
Guests were present from
London, Kitchener, Toronto,
Chatham, Belleville, Stirling,
Goderich, Washington, Ottawa,
Du nd as , Bayfield, Clinton,
Varna and Brucefield.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was feted with a
community shower held in the
auditorium at Huron Centennial
School and a shower given by
relatives at the cottage of Mrs.
Ken Parke.

Donna Jean Whitehouse, R. R.
2, Kippen,
Rev. Donald Beck officiated
at the double-ring terettorly
against a background of white
flowers and candelabra.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. Ernest Whitehouse, IL R. 2,
Kippen, and the groom, the son
of Mks, Stanley Collins and the
late Mr. Collins, R. R. 3,
Clinton.
Given in marriage by her
,father, the bride wore a
floor-length dress of white peau
de soie. The high-fitted, A-line
dress was highlighted in the back
by a chapel train caught at the
waist by a bow, Both dress and
' train were trimmed with white
and pink lace. 'to complete her
ensemble, she chose white and
pink lace to hold her two-tier,
silk illusion veil in place and she
carried a nosegay of white and
pink flowers.
Matron of honour was Mrs.
Den Wright of Clinton, cousin of
the bride; and the bridesmaids
were'Miss thane Collins, Clinton,
sister of the groom; and Miss
Linda Bell, R. R. 2, Kippen.
They were gowned alike in
floor-length dresses of petal-pink
polyester crepe with matching
bows in their hair.
Miss Susanne Eggert,
Egmondville, cousin of the
bride, was flowergirl and was
dressed identically to the
bridesmaids. They all carried
nosegays of mixed flowers.
Organist was Jack Caldwell,
Who played traditional wedding
music.
Groomsman was Bruce
Collins, Clinton, brother of the
groom; and ushers were Don
Wright, Clinton and Bill Collins,
Clinton, brother of the groom.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held in the church
parlour,. Guests attended the
wedding from Armdale, Nova
Scotia; Oshawa, Arthur,
London, Seaforth, Clinton,
Kippen, Brucefield and Hensall,
For the wedding trip to
Eastern Ontario, the bride wore
a white, cotton lace hotpants
ensemble With red accessories
and a corsage of red carnations,
The couple will live in
Brucefield.

A surprise grocery shower
was held at the home of Mrs.
Stewart Broadfoot, Erncefield.
Kippen 4--H girls and their
leaders held a shower at the
home 'of Miss Lynn Alderdice,
assisted by Miss Linda Bell,
Neighbours and friends held a
shower at the home 'of Mrs.
Robert Bell, assisted by Mrs.
Grant MacLean and Mrs. Vern
Alderdice.
The staff of Huron
Centennial School presented
Donna with a seven-piece
wooden salad set and relish dish.
