About two weeks ago there
was a picture in the London
Free Press of a gentleman with
an old wooden pump, (picture
taken by Muriel Trott). We have
been told that this pump, which
bears the name "J. Stephenson"
was manufactured right here in
Clinton at the J. Stephenson
Pump Works which was located
on Huron Street where K. W.
Coiquhoun now lives. It is
interesting to receive these bits
of information and we are happy
to pass them on.

Saturday last week, the
Rudds, started off for an auction
sale near Walton where we met
old friends who reminded us of
the Steam Engine Reunion at
Blyth. Neither of us had
remembered about it but needed
nd more prompting. The day
was fine for an outdoor event
and the grounds were crowded
with people.
The parade, which was just
forming up as we arrived, was
led off by the Seaforth Girls'
Trumpet Band, There were
steam engines of all kinds—wood
burning and kerosene burning,
many old tractors and several
old.varsi including a 1929 Buick,
Model T. Ford and a replica of a
1.903 Frazer. Also included was
some real' live horsepower with
one saddle horse and a little
two-wheeled cart pulled by a
.donkey.
The engines came from all
over with representatives from
such places as Ingersoll, Tilbury,
Norwich, Port Dover and
Ferndale, Michigan.
The mobile unit of the Huron
County Pioneer Museum was
present with many interesting
items on display.
There were exhibits with
operating miniature steam
engines, and all kinds of real
steam engines at work, A
sawmill was in operation for
lumber and a thresher was
threshing grain.
For entertainment there was
an old time fiddlers' contest
with some lively music resulting.
Earl and Martha Heywood
entertained with Earl acting as
master of ceremonies—an
interesting afternoon in all,
We note from the Goderich
Signal-Star that Elvin Parker of
.Clinton has purchased the law
practice of the late J, K. Hunter
of Goderich.
