Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor-length gown of white peau polyester crepe. She chose white accessories with a gardenia and stephanotis corsage. Following the receptions the bride changed into a floral silk hot pants outfit in deep red and white and the happy couple left for an extended wedding trip throughout Western Ontario to Western Canada and British Columbia. Mr, and Mrs. Connelly will make their home in Winnipeg where Marg will teach at Balmoral School and Bob is employed with the Department of the Environment. KYLE—CARTER St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Clinton, was the setting on Saturday, August 21, for the double-ring ceremony uniting in marriage Judith Marie Carter and Gary Thomas Kyle. Rev. G. Lockhart Royal officiated, against a background of candelabra and pink, white and mauve gladioli. Mr. Charles Merrill, organist, accompanied soloist Mrs. Robert Homuth, who sang "Wedding de sole. Daisy chains of Venise lace covered the short slim sleeves and circled the empire waistline with a deep band of lace at the hemline. Rawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Lapere, at Centennial United Church on Saturday, August 28, 1.971. Rev. F. MacKinnon officiated assisted by Rev. D, V. Funnell, cousin of the bride. Mrs. W. J. Rowe of Boston Mass, was organist and Mr. J. Gilmore McIntyre soloist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a traditional white peau de soie with lace princess line gown, with a cathedral train. She carried deep pink roses. Miss Joan •Tufts, as maid of honour was beautiful in floral pink as were the other bridesmaids: Misses Christine Rawson, Janice Funnell and Barbara Gavin. The girls carried nosegays of white daisies' with pink ribbons. The dainty flower girl, Miss Tracey McIntyre carried a basket of white daisies and Master Ian Tufts carried the rings on a satin pillow. Groomsman was Mr. Douglas Rawson and guests were ushered, by Jim Martin, K. Eric Polkinghorne and Paul Tufts. The bride is a graduate of University of Western Ontario and Althouse College and the groom is attending the Faculty of Dentistry, U.W.O. The bride has been honored at several showers, hostesses being: Mrs. J. G. McIntyre, Mrs. W. M. Dundass, Mrs. E, C. McTavish, Mrs. E. M. Walsh, Mrs. G. A. Johnston, and Mrs. J. W. Chapman. Open house was held Sunday at the bride's home and a rehearsal dinner party was hosted by the groom's parents at the Darlene motel. The couple will reside in Mitchell, Ont., where the bride is employed by the Perth County Board of Education. roses. All were gowned alike in floor-length crystal polyester satin in hot pink with white venise lace trim and carried nosegays of white starburst poms and pink carnations with trailing ivy. Mr. Peter Roberton, Waterloo was best man. Guests were ushered in by Mr. Don Moorehouse, North Bay; Mr. Wayne Wilson, Ottawa and Mr. Bruce Boddy of Sudbury. A reception dinner followed at Ontario Street Church and UCW meets beneath a wide satin bow at the waist. Her elbow-length french illusion veil was held in place with a bandeau of stephanotis and she carried a colonial bouquet. of white stephanotis, starburst poms and pink delight evening reception at the Legion Hall. The bride's mother received guests wearing an aqua, chanel-length dress of polyester jacquard with lace sleeves and front panel inset. She chose navy accessories and, a multi-floral corsage. The groom's mother received in ,„,a light green chanel-length dress of puff Song", "Hawaiian Wedding Song", and "The Lord's Prayer". The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carter, Clinton, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. David Kyle, Hensall. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown, the skirt featuring six tiers of floral scalloped lace, fitted bodice with long, full sleeves forming tight cuffs at the wrist, and a high neckline. A floral headpiece with tiny pearls held her shoulder-length veil. She carried a white Bible decorated with a purple orchid showered with white mums. Matron of honor was Mrs. William Darrell, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Kyle, Hensall, sister of the groom; Miss Janet Meidinger, Zurich; and Miss Debbie McKinley, Zurich. They were gowned alike in coral puckered nylon trimmed with iridescent pearl trim around' empire waist, square neck and puffed sleeves. They wore tiny coral flowers in their hair and carried nosegays of white mums. Miss Jane Carter, cousin of the bride, was flowergirl and wore a floor-length gown similar to the bridesmaids and carried a crocheted basket of coral mums. Mrs, F. McGregor presided for the afternoon meeting of the UCW on Tuesday, September 7, with 25 members and two visitors in attendance. Mrs. H. Johnston conducted the devotional period assisted by Mrs. Amber Popp and Mrs. Nivens. The theme was "Faith". Mrs. Marlene Forbes gave a very informative and interesting report of the Westminster weekend of the London conference which was held at Alma College, St. Thomas during the last of May. The WI area convention will be held in the Ontario Street Church, September 29 and 30. There will be a bale packed at the end of October. Mrs. H. Johnston entertained with a humorous reading, entitled "When Father Papered The Parlour". Mrs. Warren Gibbings will be program convener for the October meeting and Mrs. A. Coleman of the March group will convene the refreshments. A very pleasant half hour was spent with Mrs. J. Gibson's group serving refreshments. Group 'Iwo had charge of devotions with Mrs, Grant Webster leading; prayer was given by Mrs. Murvyn Hayter, Thescripture lesson was read by Mrs. Watson Webster who also gave a reading on harvesting. Mrs. Murdock Morrison took up the offering and Mrs. Harvey Hayter dedicated it. A presentation was made to Mrs. Watson Webster, who has recently moved to Clinton. Mrs. Grant Webster read the address which was written by Mrs. Sherlock Keyes and Mrs. Harvey Hayter presented the gift. Mrs. Gordon Hill gave an interesting talk on her trip to England, France and Ireland. Plans were made to hold a Smorgasbord Supper on Wednesday, Sept. 29, with Group One and Three to look after it. There were 94 sick and shut-in calls made during the summer months. After the meeting closed Group One served lunch. Rally Day Service will be held in the United Church next Sunday, Sept. 12, at 10:15 a.ni. with Rev„ Murdock Morrison in charge. Master Billy Darrell, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer and carried a satin pillow trimmed with the bride's lace. The groomsman was Kevin McKinnon, Zurich. Guests were ushered by Steve Kyle, brother of the groom, Tillsonburg; Shane McKinnon, Zurich; and William Taylor, Hensall. Following the ceremony, the bridal party received guests at a dinner and reception held at the Clinton Legion Hall. Receiving her guests, the bride's mother wore a blue multi-coloured crepe-de-chene dress with long, full sleeves, white crimp coat with navy accessories and a corsage of blue and white mums. She was assisted by the groom's mother who chose a pink crepe dress with matching coat, black accessories and a corsage of pink and white mums. For travelling on their honeymoon to Northern Ontario, the bride changed to a purple hot pants ensemble. The couple, on their return, will reside in Exeter. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were from Goderich, Grand Bend, Wingham, Toronto, Hensall, Zurich, London, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, Exeter, St. Thomas, Bayfield, Centralia, Brussels, Seaforth and Crediton. Prior to the wedding, the bride was honored at showers given by Mrs. William Darrell, Clinton; Mrs. John Meade, Clinton; Miss Janet Meidinger, Zurich; and Mrs. Byron Kyle, Hensall. which follows at Saltford Valley Hall, Saltford, Ontario, Mrs. Cudmore received guests wearing a dress of mint green crimpoline, white accessories and corsage of white mums. Mrs. Broadfoot chose a dress of printed polyester crepe, white accessories and corsage of white mums, For the wedding trip to Northern Ontario and Western Canada, the bride travelled in a turquoise pant suit with white accessories and corsage of white daisies. The couple will reside in Windsor, Ontario. Wedding guests were present from Toronto, Cleveland, London, Kitchener, Seaforth, Clinton and area, Before her wedding, the bride was honored at a shower in the home of Mrs. Gordon Cudmore held by Miss Helen Cudmore and Mrs. Sharon Brindley, It was a miscellaneous shower for friends and relatives. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length A—line gown of traditional white lagoda with a scoop neckline, long sleeves and bodice of rachel lace. The detachable train, which was fastened at the waistline with a self bow, was and flowing and trimmed with matching lace. A cluster of daisy like flowers held her elbow-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white mums and baby yellow roses. Mrs. Sharon Brindley of Goderich was her friend's matron of honor and the bridesmaids were her cousin, Miss Helen Cudmore of Clinton and Mrs. Sandra Hayter, Varna, friend of the bride, They wore floor-length gowns of yellow polyester chiffon with Empire waistline which was accented with orange and green lace medallions, Three-quarter-length pleated bell sleeves and yellow picture hats completed their ensembles, They all carried baskets of orange and yellow shasta daisies.
