Beukema officiated at the pretty wedding ceremony in 'Clinton Reformed Church on July .30, 1971 which united in marriage Nellie Maaskant and Bert Dykstra. Cox, Aylmer and, he late Cecil Cox and the groom s the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. loss Shaw, Springfield, Ontario. Given in marriage by Mr. (enneth Williamson, Aylmer, he bride chose a floor-length ;own of white silk organza tyled with an A-line skirt, long .heer bishop sleeves and a high ieckline. Her four-tiered calloped silk illusion veil was ield in place by a chantilly ace-leafed garland with seed iearls and crystals and she .arried a bouquet of pink roses, tephanotis and ivy. The matron of honour was rs. John Weber, Aylmer and he bridesmaids were Mrs. illiam Wilson, Springfield, Mrs, onald. Poulton, Mississauga. 'he flower girl was Miss Deneen ilson of Springfield. They were Ii gowned alike in mauve hiffon over taffeta with flowing ack panels and they carried ouquets of mauve carnations and white mums. The attendapts also wore tinted flowers in their hair. John Weber Sr., Aylmer was groomsman and the guests were ushered by William White, Springfield, Kenneth Crai k, Toronto and the ring bearer was Master John Weber Jr., Mrs. George Hunt played the selected wedding music. A reception for 100 guests was held in the church parlours where the bride's mother received guests wearing an aqua chiffon ensemble with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother assisted wearing a gold tweed satin ensemble with tan accessories and a corsage of orange delight roses. For a honeymoon trip to Northern Ontario, the bride changed to a tangerine coloured dress and jacket of crimpolene with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The happy couple are residing at 3 Park Street, Aylmer. Out of town guests were present from Sault Ste. Marie, Sarnia, Toronto, Germany, London, Detroit, Ingersoll, Woodstock, St. Thomas, Harrietsville, Clinton, Springfield, Aylmer and surrounding district. The bride was feted with several showers prior to her marriage given by Mrs. M. O'Neill, Clinton, Mrs. Ivan Warren, Mrs. Albert Ethelstone, and Mrs. William Wilson and at the McIver family reunion. Lighted Candelabra and baskets of multi-coloured flowers formed the setting in Lohdesborough United Church when Margaret Jean Stewart and Floyd Bruce Smith exchanged wedding vows in a double-ring ceremony performed by Rev. Stanley C. McDonald. Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Harry Lear and she accompanied the soloist Mr. Harry Lear who sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and "I'll walk beside you." The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart, RR 1 Clinton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Smith, RR 2 Blyth. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white imported organza gown over taffeta, featuring a scoop neckline and full sleeves finished with rows of lace to a set-in cuff. The bodice was lavishly trimmed with lace and seed pearls and the skirt was very full with rows of lace with small bows of satin ribbon. The centre of attraction was a built-in Chapel train and small bows at the waistline. She wore a silk illusion Cathedral veil, edged in lace and it was attached to her matching Juliet bonnet. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a strand of cultured pearls with matching ear-rings. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, white stephanotis, blue cornflowers and shasta daisies. Miss Myrna Halmes of Ottawa was maid of honour and the bridesmaids were Miss Diane Chamney, Belgrave and Miss Kerry Tall, Blyth, The flower girl was Miss Barbara Forbes of Clinton. All the attendants wore lilac and white printed chiffon A-line gowns featuring long cuffed sleeves with a flounce at the wrist. The front of the bodice was gathered under a cuffed collar and the empire waist was trimmed with a self band, ending in a large \ bow at the back, They all wore little lilac roses in their hair and carried baskets of multi-coloured flowers. The groomsman was Mr. David Thomson, Toronto and the ushers were Harvey Stewart, Clinton, brother of the bride, Ricky Smith, Blyth, brother of the groom and Douglas Langhorn, London. For a wedding reception and dance held in the Legion Hall, Clinton, the bridal party was assisted in receiving by the bride's mother who wore a mauve fortrel dress with bead and braid trim and a yellow sweetheart rose corsage. She was assisted by the groom's mother who wore a yellow fortrel dress trimmed with lace and a multi-coloured corsage... The bride chose a navy and white fortrel and lace pant suit for travelling with a red carnation and white stephanotis corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will reside in London, Mr. Smith who is a graduate of the University of Waterloo is employed with the Honeywell Computer Company and Mrs. Smith is a 1971 graduate of the Perth-Huron Regional School of Nursing. Guests were present from Ottawa, Winchester, London, Michigan, Danville, Virginia, Toronto, B ramalea, Owen Sound, Wiarton, Levack, Sudbury, and the surrounding district. Prior to her marriage the bride was feted with showers given by, Mrs. Robert Gibbings, Mrs. Murray Adams, Mrs. Gordon Barker and Mrs. Clifford Adams. bride. The maid of honor wore a pink chiffon dress with a high empire waist-line, It was sleeveless with a tucked and ruffled bib on the bodice and full skirt falling from the high-waist. The bridesmaids' gowns were similar in style in lilac chiffon. These attendants carried white miniature carnations and wore matching flowers in their hair. Larry Le Beau, brother of the bride was best man. Mr. Wayne Stisling, Brucefield, Mr. Dean Reid, Clinton, and Mr. Peter Le Beau, Brucefield, were ushers. Jeffery Le Beau nephew of the groom, was ring beau. The Groom's mother wore a lace coat and dress ensemble of melon with white accessories and a corsage of white gardinias. For travelling the bride chose a mauve, two-piece crepe pantsuit with black accessories and a corsage of miniature carnations and baby carnations in her hair. Guests were present from Kitchener, Toronto, Lindsay, Exeter, London, Goderich, New Dundee, Stratford, and Port Elgin. Prior to the wedding the bride was honoured at the home of Mrs. Dave Middleton on Saturday, July 31. On Tuesday Aug. 10 in the Brucefield school a miscellaneous shower was held in honor of Ann by the Brucefield neighbours and relatives. entertaining in the area during July and August, provided an hour of music on Thursday Family Night. The program, which included several familiar songs, was enjoyed by the residents, who joined together in applause to the young couple. The Band Concerts, Which have been held on the lawn during the summer, have been quite a success and it has been decided to arrange to have them again next year, if possible, beginning in June, If you have a group who would like to entertain the residents for an hour sometime during the year, we would be glad to hear from you. George Clifton and the late Mrs. Leona Clifton exchanged wedding vows , with Richard Dennis Le Beau, Kitchener (formerly Brucefield) son of Mr. and Mrs. Maxim Le Beau, Brucefield in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Clinton on August 14,1971 at 3:30 p.m. with Father Kelly officiating at the double-ring ceremony. The church was decorated with white glads and mauve mums. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. Fred McGregor and soloist was Mrs. Robert Le Beau who sang "Ave Maria" and the "Lords Prayer" Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a formal gown of white faille fashioned with a scooped neckline, long sleeves and sheath skirt. A large cathedral train deeply scalloped and edged with matching lace cascaded from the high-rise waistline. She carried a mauve orchid with pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. Donna, Stirling, Brucefield, the brides sister was matron of honor. She carried purple miniature carnations and wore similar flowers in her hair. Mrs. Grace Coleman, Seaforth sister of the bride, Mrs. Joyne Le Beau, New Dundee sister-in-law of the groom, Miss Judy Schell, Exeter, friend of the bride were the bridesmaids, and junior bridesmaid was Miss Janice Webster, Varna, cousin of the Dick Roorda, of Clinton Christian Reform Church, led the Song Service held in the auditorium on Sunday evening. Several visitors, along with a good attendance of residents, gathered in the auditorium on Monday afternoon for old time music and dancing and a sing-a-long. Miss Della Peart, Norman Speir and Jerry Collins supplied the music. Due to the inclement weather, the bus trip scheduled for Wednesday was postponed for one week.
