Beef producers
• "The Ontario Beef
Improvement Association
continues to advocate and
support a beef industry that is
based on the principle of free
and responsible enterprise," said
Hugh Grace, president, speaking
on behalf of the executive, as he
emerged from a recent meeting.
"Beef producers wish to
remain free to make production
want to be free
and marketing decisions on the
basis of supply and demand," he
continued. "We therefore remain
unalterably opposed to any
legislation or other measure that
will infringe upon the free
interprovincial movement of our
product within Canada or with
any measure that would
arbitrarily establish controls over
either production or the
of legislation
marketing of our product."
The Ontario Beef
Improvement Association
remains opposed to Bill C-176,
the National Marketing Agencies
Act and is determined to apply
all its resources in opposing any
legislation which would provide
for restriction of the
interprovincial movement and
production of cattle and beef in
Canada. '
BY MRS, MAUDE HEIVEN
REICHERT - GRIEVE
St, George's Anglican Church,
London Township, decorated
with baskets of white mums and
yellow shasta daisies was the
setting for a quiet but pretty
wedding uniting in marriage
Norma Noreen Grieve, only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
N. Grieve, Ilderton, to Kenneth
James Reichert, only son of Mr,
and Mrs. Orland Reiehert,
Hensall.
Rev. G. C. Johnson
performed the double-ring
ceremony, and Mrs, George
Graves was organist. Given in
marriage by her father, the bride
chose a street-length gown of
snow white crepe featuring an
empire waistline and ring
neckline. These were accented
with mauve lace, the sheer
sleeves having matching
appliques on them. The back
featured a fall-in train. Her
headpiece consisted of small
white fabric rosettes. She carried
a nosegay of miniature yellow
roses and white daisies.
Mrs. Mary Walls, Denfield,
cousin of the bride was matron
of honour. She wore an
empire-waisted dress in shades of
mauve. She carried a nosegay of
miniature yellow roses and
daisies, with entwining mauve
ribbon.
Michael Murphy, Ilderton,
was groomsman.
For the reception at the
Shillelagh Motel in Lucan, the
bride's mother was assisted by
the groom's mother in receiving
the guests. The couple's only
living grandparent, Mrs. Lavina
Reichert, was also present.
For travelling to Niagara Falls
and the Thousand Islands, the
bride changed to a bright yellow
hot pants ensemble, with white
accessories. On their return the
couple will reside in Ilderton.
Prior to the wedding showers
were held in honour of the
bride.
Mrs. Mary Walls, Mrs. Joyce
Murphy, Mrs. Joan Campbell
and Miss Barbara Stewart held
one at St. George's Church
Parish Hall. A second shower
was held at the home of Harry
Shipley by the Shipley family.
Vanneck United Church Women
held a shower for her in the
church's classroom, and Mrs. R.
H. Cunningham and Mrs. William
Coyle hosted a shower at Mrs.
Cunningham's home in London.
The bride's mother held an open
house in her daughter's honour.
