ONTARIO TO ISSUE BIRTH CERTIFICATES IN FRENCH Birth Certificates printed in French are available in Ontario on request The Honourable John ltaremko, Provincial Secretary and Minister of Citizenship announced today. The decision to make the Certificates available in French is only one of several steps implementing the Government's broad policy of bilingualism. The Certificates can be obtained from the Office of the Registrar General in the Macdonald Block of Queen's Park. Only issued for those persons born in Ontario, they are retroactive to 1869, the year registration of births commenced in this province.
