St. Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church, Clinton, was the setting
or the wedding July 10 at 4
p.m. of Barbara Ann Sharp,
ughter of Mr. and Mts. Alvin
harp, to Edward Paul Eedy, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Eedy of
RR 1, Dungannon. The marriage
was solemnized by the bride's
brother, Reverend John Sharp of
Windsor.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a
floor-length gown of Point de
Spree with filmy full skirt and
long puffed sleeves. The gown
was embroidered in guipure lace
daisies with the cuff of sleeve
and neckline also embroidered in
lace.
EEDY — SHARP
Her floordength veil was held
by a matching wedding band
headpiece. She carried a bouquet
of yellow and white shasta
daisies, yellow sweetheart roses,
stephanotis with trailing white
ribbons.
Her attendant, Miss Barbara
Semple of London was gowned
in yellow flowered voile styled
the same as the bride. She
carried nosegays of yellow
daisies, cornflower and baby
breath.
The groomsman was Mr.
Donald Geiger of Zurich. The
ushers were Mr. Frank Miller of
Kitchener and Mr. John
McKenzie of Dungannon.
Mrs. Robert Le Beau,
bow accented the empire
waistline.
Groomsman was Barry Taylor
of RR 3, Clinton and ushers
were Kenneth Shortreed of
Walton and Paul Morrison of
Varna.
For the wedding trip to
Northern Ontario the bride wore
a mauve crepe dress with lace
overcoat, black accessories and a
deep mauve orchid.
Organist at the wedding was
Mrs. Nora Moffat of Wroxeter.
Soloist was Peter PoStill Of
Clinton who sang the Lord's
Prayer and Wedding Prayer.
A reception followed the
wedding at the .auditorium of
the Seaforth District High
School.
Guests attended the wedding
from Newport, Michigan;
Indianapolis, Indiana; Toronto;
St. David's; London; Goderich;
Exeter; Burlington; Listowel;
Ilderton; Ailsa Craig; Clinton;
Seaforth; Varna; 13rucefield;
Walton and Staffa.

organist, played the wedding
music. The soloist was Robert
Snell of Londesboro.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the
Clinton Community Centre at
which the bride's mother
received guests wearing a pink
floral dress with white
accessories and a corsage of
white carnations. She was
assisted by the groom's mother
who wore a blue chiffon dress
with white accessories and a
corsage of white carnations.
For a wedding trip to Western
Ontario the bride wore a white
and mauve crimplene dress with
white and mauve accessories and
a corsage of mixed flowers. On
their return the couple will
reside at. RR 1, Dungannon.
Clinton Christian Reformed
Church was decorated with two
baskets of white gladiolis and
yellow mums for the wedding of
George Stewart Low of
Goderich and Elizabeth Doreen
Bottema of Clinton on July 10,
1971.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Low of
Goderich and the bride the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Bottema of Clinton.
- The bride was given in
marriage by her father at the
double-ring ceremony and wore
a floor-length, princeSs-line gown
with chapel train fashioned from
peau de sole with lace rosebuds
brocaded around a slightly
stooped neckline and on the
skirt of the gown. The
shoulder-length veil wag crested
with white roses and she carried
a bouquet of yellow sweetheart
roses and white carnations.
Maid of honour was Frames
Bottema of Clinton, sister of the
bride. Her dress was floor-length
gown of pale yellow dacron
polyester with long sheet sleeves,
featuring white, seqUin-tritorned
neckline and sleeves, She carried
a bouquet at yellow and white
miniature carnations and purple
starflowers. In her hair She wore
mauve-tinted baby mums.
The bridesmaids Were Mrs.
Margaret Armstrong of Stratford
and Miss Rita Poelman of
Goderich. They were dressed
identically to the maid of
honour.
A double ring ceremony took
place in Wesley—Willis United
Church op Saturday,, June 19, at
which Brenda Elaine Kingswell
became the bride of Larry
Bertram Scott.
Reverend A,V. Mowatt
performed the marriage of the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hector
Kingswell of Clinton, and the,
son of Mr, and Mrs, Arnold
Scott, of RR 1, Seaforth.
The bride's dress was of
traditional white princess
organza over taffeta featuring
rows of shirred lace down the
front and back, trimmed with
tiny white bows. Other
highlights of the bride's dress
were a high Victorian neckline
and a small train on the back.
Her headdress was of small white
roses with a long trailing veil
edged with Madeira lace. She
carried a cascade of yellow roses,
white and yellow shasta daisies
intermixed with soft fern.

The matron of honeur was
Mrs. Robert Shaddick of
Londesboro, She wore an empire
styled dress of mint green
chiffon with long full sleeves and
trimmed with guipult lace. She
wore a small headpiece of white
and yellow shasta daisies and a
cascade of the same.
Gowned identically to the
matron of honour was the
bridesmaid Miss Sharon Pollock
of Clinton.
The flowergirl, Miss Lynn
Mcilwain, cousin of the bride, of
Stratford wore a dress styled
identically to the other
attendants.
Ferg Quinn, of Halifax, Nova
Scotia, was groomsman. Ushers
were Donald Meehan of Sarnia,
Laverne Scott of Seaforth,
brother of the groom and Elwin
Kingswell of Clinton, brother of
the bride. Billy Garrick, of
Seaforth, nephew of the groom,
was ring bearer.
Mr, Lorne Dotterer, Goderich
was organist and accompanied
Groomsman was Wayne
Kluth of Brantford and ushers
were Mr. Isaac Bottema of
Clinton, brother of the bride and
Bandy Miller of Goderich. A
reception was held following the
wedding in the church
auditorium which Was decorated
with yellow and pink roses. Mrs.
Betty Wilson of Brantford sang
Bless this House during the
reception.
The bride's mother greeted
guests at the reception. She wore
a turquoise polyester dress with
white accessories and a corsage
of minature pink carnations.
She was assisted by the
groom's mother whose dress was
of blue crepe with long lace
sleeves, white accessories and a
corsage of miniature pink
carnations.
The bride wore a white
crimp-knit dress trimmed with
navy and red with white
accessories as the couple left for
their wedding trip to Niagara
Falls and Ontario Place. They
will reside at 55 Newgate St.,
Goderich.
Previous to the wedding the
bride was honoured at several
showers. Miss Frances Bottema
of Clinton and Eileen and Rita
Poelman of Goderich, held one
shower.
Another was held for former
co-workers at the Goderich
Nursing Home by Mrs. Grace
Bakker.
Guests attended the wedding
from Sarnia, Brantford,
Montreal, Toronto, London,
Weston and Halifax.

Nancy Elizabeth Oesch of
Clinton became the bride of
Maurice L. Thibeault on June
26, 1971 at St. Andrew's
Church, Clinton.
The church -was decorated
with peonies and white bows for
the double-ring ceremony with
Rev. G. Mullholland
officiating. Organist was Mrs.
Milton Oesch while Mrs. Robert
Homuth sang 0 Period Love
and Two Shall Be One.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Oesth and
the groom the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Leo Thibeault of Cartier
Ontario.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a
floor-length, white chiffon gown
with matching lace, a thatching
veil and long train. She carried
red roses with white streamers.
Matron of honour was Mrs.
Linda Hurley of Paris, Ontario,
sister of the bride who wore a
floor-length sea blue, peau de
sole and carried a single
long-stemmed rose.
Bridesmaids were Barb Oesch
of Clinton, Rosemary Oesch of
Ottawa, Donna Oesch of
Rochester New York, Faye
Farquar of Clinton and Mario
O'Neill of Clinton. 'They were
dressed identically to the maid
of honour but in a rainbow of
colours With two attendants in
blue, two in pink and two in
yellow.
Flow ergirl was Shelley
Thibeault of Cartier, Ontario
who was dressed in a
floor-length dress sitnilar to the
bride and carried a single rose.
Itingbearer was Andrew
Thibeault of Cartier,
Groomsman was Roy Oesch Jr.
of Clinton and ushers were
Gerald Omit of Rochester,
N.Y., Don Oesch, Ottawa, Paul
Hurley of Paris, Ron Thibeault
of North Bay and John
McPherson of Clinton.
Mountains in Pennsylvania, the
bride changed to a light blue
crimpknit pantsuit with
matching beige accessories and a
corsage of pink roses.
The newlyweds are residing in
London.
Guest present at the wedding
were from Clinton, Seaforth,
Goderich, Toronto, Brantford,
Woodstock, Trenton, Belleville,
Norwood, Brighton, Halifax, and
Sarnia.
A reception was held
following the wedding at the
Pine Ridge Chalet at Hensall
which was cleLorated with
baskets of roses.
The bride's mother received
guests. She wore a pink lace
dress with matching white
accessories and a corsage of
white gardenias.
She was assisted by the
groom's mother who Wore a bite
dress with white accessories and
a corsage of white carnations.
For the wedding trip to
Niagara Falls, the bride wore a
red lace pant suit with white
accessories arid a corsage of
white mums.
The couple will reside in
Morgans Trailer Court, Clinton.
Prior to the wedding the
bride was treated to showers
given by Mrs. Doug Familiar and
Faye Parquar of Clinton and by
Barb Oesch, Linda Hurley and
Donna Oesch at the home of
Mrs. Roy Oesch, Clinton.
