Visitors at the home of Mr,
and Mrs, Ed Davies over the
people in the County, Mrs.
Dorothy Grange thanked her.
The hymn, "Take My Life",
was sung, followed by prayer by
Mrs, Jacjt Armstrong.
Mrs. Lawrence Plaetzer read a
poem and took over the business
period.
Following this, a dainty lunch
was served by the members of
Unit 2.
weekend were Mr, and Mrs. Fred
Widerneir, Mr. and Mrs. John
Riley, Mr, and Mrs. Vern
Redford, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Sippell, all of Stratford; and Mr.
and Mrs. Herb Monek, Pauline

Mrs. Myrtle Munro and Mrs.
Beth Lansing visited last
Thursday with the former's
cousins, Mrs. Alex Ebert and
Mrs. George Grant at
Wallaceburg.
Bolton - Ford
reunion held
Under sunny skies the third
Annual Bolton-Ford re-union
got underway at the Soldan
farm, Hay Township. Carolyn
Spellman Fedy was mistress of
ceremonies and called on her
father Dr. J. A. Spellman of
Kitchener to address the group,
at which time he introduced the
special guests of the day Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Pardo of Eugene,
Oregon, Mrs.' Reith Ford of
Grants Pass, Oregon and Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Hocking of
Hastings, Nebraska. On thanking
the host and hostess John and
Victoria Soldan he called on the
younger generation for their
interest and support to make
this annual event permanent. In
speaking of one who had made
good in the business and
financial world he moved for a
vote of thanks to Mr. Edward T.
Berry for favours given which he
contributed to Ed's love of the
past and of those of the present.
A letter was read by Mrs.
John Soldan in • which Ed
expressed his regrets for being
unavoidably absent. The history
of the first two generations of
the Fords was given by Victoria
Soldan and "The Fords as I
knew them". A contest using
surnames of those present
followed. In first place with
perfect scores were teams led by
Carl Heppler, Patrick Soldan,
Gordon Clemas and Dan Fedy;
second place was Gary
Birmingham's team.
In quiz two "Old Slogans",
Patrick Soldans team scored
perfect; Carl Heppler, 19;
Donald Fedy and John Munn
18, Gary Birmingham 17 and
Gordon Clemas 16.
Supervising the children's
sports were Bob and Joan
DuLong.

`Hippy' the pony owned by
Gary Love added joy to the
occasion for the 27 children
present. An interesting feature
of the day was a picture gallery
classed under such titles as:
Boltons and Fords; The Fourth
Generation; Good Days; and
Who are these? The artists were
Victoria Soldan and Martha
Pardo of Eugene Oregon.
'Serving from the supper table
were Doris Clemas, Norma
Munn, Alda, Heppler, Maude
Hoffman, Kathryn Hocking and
Martha Pardo. Mr. Edward
Lindenfield and Mr. and Mrs.
Mervyn Cudmore Exeter and
Mrs. Norman Floody Windsor,
represented the Laura Bolton
branch of the family. Mr. T.
Harry Hoffman and family will
be in charge of the 1972
re-union to be held the last
Sunday of June at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. William Hoffman,
14 Concession, Stephen
Township.
Rev. Harold F. Currie who
has been Minister of Hensall and
Chiselhurst United Church for
nine years and has accepted a
call to Sebringville United
Church, together with his wife
and family, were honored at a
farewell special Sunday Service
Sunday morning at Hensall
United Church, as a farewell
tribute for their devotion to the
church. The Rev. Clifford Waite
D.F.C. B.D. D.D. of Simco, a
close friend of the Currie's was a
guest minister.
Representing the
congregations officials of the
church Walter Spencer for the
He nsall U.C. read the
presentation address, and Ross
Kercher, for Chiselhurst U.C.
presented Rev. and Mrs. Currie
with a purse of money, who
expressed their thanks in a very
fitting manner.
A social hour and luncheon
served in Fellowship Hall.
Miss Janice Bonthron left by
plane on June 24 for London,
England. She will be working at
Bontham Hall, London
University for the summer
months.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mousseau
were suddenly surprised last
Friday night when friends
arrived complete with cake and a
anniversary clock to celebrate
their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Johnson
of London and Leslie Cudmore
of Usborne, are vacationing for
two weeks in Vancouver with
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Low and
family.
The evening unit of the
U.C.W. met at beautiful Pine
Lake for their June meeting,
After a walk around the park,
the meeting was held in the large
recreation room.
Helen Trewartha led the
devotions with the theme "Take
Time". Scripture was read by
Hilda Tyndall.
A short skit was presented by
Joyce Irwin and June Johns.
Sharon Colclongh played her
electric guitar and sang a solo. A
story and poem closed this
segment of the meeting.
The usual business was heard.

MRS. MARION COLLINS
Mrs. Marion Collins passed
away in Strathroy Hospital on
Saturday, June 26, in her 44th
year.
She is survived by husband
Arthur of Strathroy; four sons,
James of Clinton, Gary of
Exeter, David of Seaforth,
George of Auburn; and one
daughter, Sharon of Auburn.
Services were held Tuesday,
June 29, at Linklater Funeral
Home, Kincardine, with
interment in Kincardine
Cemetery.

has accepted a position at the
Listowel Memorial Hospital,

congratulations to a former
resident of this village, Miss Vera
Jane Craig of Lucan, on being
awarded the Clarinda Bailey
Memorial Bursary at the
graduation exercises at the St.
Joseph's Regional School 'of
Nursing, London, last week.
Vera Jane is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert J. Craig of
Lucan and the granddaughter of
Mr. William J. Craig of Auburn.
At tending the graduation
ceremony were William J. Craig ,
Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Allen, Mr.
and Mrs. William H.,Coatts, and
Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. McMurray
of Flint, Michigan.
A large crowd attended the
45th annual memorial service at
Ball's cemetery last Sunday
afternoon. The registration guest
book was in charge of Mrs,
Gordon Taylor and Mrs. Frank
Raithby. The service was in
charge of the Knox United
Church and their minister,
Pastor Alfred Fry, was in charget
Mrs. Norman Wightman, the
church organist, was in charge of
the music.
Frank Raithby, chairman of
the trustee board, welcomed all
to the service and thanked
everyone for their co-operation,
those in charge of the grounds,
and, also, those for their
financial support. He thanked
Harry Webster for the loan of his
organ and, also, to the Arthur
Funeral Home for the chairs. He
announced the appointment of
Mrs. Norman McDowell as the
secretary-treasurer, to follow the
resignation of Mrs. Gordon
Taylor, who has served many
years.
Pastor Fry led the service,
assisted by Rev. Keith Stokes,
Rector of St. Mark's Anglican
Church, Auburn. Pastor Fry
chose for his message "The
Certainty Of Resurrection". Miss
Nancy Anderson sang a solo,
"The Lord Is My Shepherd".
The offering was received by
members of the trustee board,
William Wagner and Frank
Raithby, and Robert Turner,
superintendent of the grounds.
Guests were present from
Guelph, Seaforth, Stratford,
Mitchell, Brantford, Kitchener,
London and many neighboring
places,
The regular meeting of the
United Church Women of Knox
United Church was held in the
Sunday school room of the
church last Wednesday evening.
The meeting was opened by
music played by Mrs. James
Jackson. The hymn, "0 Lord Of
Life" was sung, followed by the
Scripture lesson — 2 Corinthians,
8th chapter, and Matthew, 10
chapter, read by Mrs. Elliott
Lapp. Meditation was given by
Mrs. Ross Robinson, followed
by prayer. A solo, "Amazing
Grace", was sung by Mrs.
Gordon Chamney, accompanied
by Mrs. Donald Haines. The
offering was received by Mrs.
William Dodd and Mrs. Norman
McDowell and dedicated with
prayer by Mrs. Jack Armstrong.
Mrs, Stanley Ball introduced
the guest speaker, the health
nurse from Goderich. She
showed pictures and told about
their work with all ages of
