The president Bill Gibbings called for a minute's silence for departed members. A letter was read from Ann and Bill Williard of Buffalo unable to attend. The minutes were read by secretary Dora Shobbrook. It was moved to have picnic next year at the same place on the first Sunday in July. The nominating committee presented a slate of officers: past Presidents, Bill and Verna Gibbings; President, Lilian Cartwright, Stratford; secretary-treasurer, Muriel and Ross Mille-on, Woodstock; refreshments, Veta and Perc Gibbings, RR 1, Clinton; Maimie and Clarence Crawford, Rlyth; sports, Thelma and Ron Ellerby, Clinton, and Valerie Garton, London; nominating, Bob Donna, Bill and Verna Gibbings, RR 1, Clinton. Ross Radford is compiling a book on the family tree from when John and Ann (Manning) Shobbrook left England in 1855 with their five children, Elizabeth, John, Will, Thomas and James. Wonfor, Clinton, officiating. Pallheerers included Douglas Scringeour, Clarence Neilans, Stewart Freeman and William Beck. MARY CHARLOTTE CAMPBELL Mary Charlotte Campbell of 88 Princess St. West, Clinton, died at her home on June 25, 1971. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Campbell was born in Ryerson Township in the Parry Sound District on April 19, 1890 to William I3lackmore and the farmer Mary Sellers. On August 28, 1907 she married George B. Campbell. After previously living in Sarnia and Brussels, the couple had lived in Clinton for 50 years. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Wesley-Willis United Church. She is survived by three sons, Ellwood, George and Robert; and by one daughter, Jessie. One daughter, Alma, predeceased her. Also surviving are four brothers, Percy, Edward, Thomas, and James. One brother, William, predeceased her. Three sisters, Pearl, Annie and Jessie, survive her. One sister, Alice, predeceased her. Funeral services took place June 28 from the Ball Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev: S. Sharpies from St. Paul's Anglican Church officiating. Burial w as in Clinton Cemetery. Pallbearers were R. J. Draper, K. W. Colquhoun, R. D. Fremlin, Rod Campbell, Tom Campbell and Robert Campbell` Jr. Flowerbearers were Grant Daniels, Ron McKay and Lenard Bastock. Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Kitchener, Burks Falls, Sundridge, Orillia, Elora, Fergus and Port Credit. Brucefield Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boyce returned home last week from a very enjoyable five-week trip to the West coast. Mr. and Mrs. George Snell of Oyen, Alberta, accompanied them, visiting relatives and friends in Alberta and B.C. BY MRS. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Debold of oderich are happy to announce [e birth of their daughter in iexandra Marine Hospital, oderich, on Tuesday, June 29, 171, a granddaughter for Mr. id Mrs. Art Hallam of Hensall. Linda Beer and Tony Kyle, top girl and boy students of Grade 8, Hensall Public School, were presented with the Kinette Scholarship Awards of $25.00 each, for having the highest average for 1970-71. Principal, Mr. Robert Raeburn, made the presentation at the school on Wednesday. This is an annual project of the Hensall Kinette Club. Last week saw the end of school for another year and the graduation of 29 grade eight students from Hensall Public School. The 1971 graduates are: Joan Alexander, Joan Archer, Linda Beer, Fred Campbell, Jayne Campbell, Wayne Campbell, Steve Corbett, Brian Dougall, Eddie Elliott, Cecil Fields, Brenda Gass, Garry Gass, Daryl Keys, Anne Knight, Tony Kyle, Bradley Lavender, Kevin Lovell, Robbie Noakes, Cindy Parker, Richard Parsons, Esther Prouty, Vernon Randall, Patti Rowcliffe, Debbie Smith, Nancy Stretton, Gail Travers, Carl Triebner, Jo-Anne Van Wieren and Michael VW, GIVE... t so more will live HEART FUND The annual Webster picnic was held June 20 in Harbour Park, Goderich, when about 150 relatives and friends spent a pleasant time renewing friendships. The sports events were in charge of the southern division, with the following winners — 5 yrs. and under, Steven Alton, Jamie McNein, Danny Webster; Girls 6-8 — Janice Webster, Heather Henderson, Jennifer Henderson; Boys 6-8 — John Heuther, Stevan Heuther, Greg Nicholson; Girls 9-11 — Joanne Ritchie, Sandia Webster, Joan Hart; Boys 9-11 — Norman Webster, Danny Homes, David Hart; Young Ladies, Lynda Webster, Elizabeth Ritchie; Young Men, Kenneth Reid; Ladies Kicking the slipper, Lynda Webster, Mary Anne Alton. Jean Reid; Men's kick the slipper, Elliot Webster; Wheelbarrbw race, Norman Webster and Malcolm Webster; 3-legged race, Stewart Alton and Ken Reid. The children all joined in a candy scramble. During the supper hour Mrs. Bert Alton president welcomed all present and a minutes silence was observed in memory of eight relatives, who had passed away during the year, Mrs. Milvert Reid, Mrs. George Clifton, Mr. Cecil Blake, Mr. Lorne Woods, Mrs. Albert Alton, Mr, Wm. Alton, Mr. Donald Durnin, Mr. Fred Finley. The president at this time presented a silver dollar to the following: Oldest lady present, Mrs. Violet Webster; Oldest gent present, Mr. W. G. Reed; Birthday nearest picnic date, Watson Webster; Wedding anniversary nearest picnic date, Grant and Elva Webster tied with Bob and June Webster; Youngest father, Ron Austin; Oldest father, W, G. Reed; coming the greatest distance, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Fells of Whitby. A business meeting followed at which time the following officers were appointed for 19 7 2 : President, Harvey Webster; first vice, Elgin McKinley; second vice, Tom Webster; third vice, Harvey Keyes; treasurer for nother, Alex Andrew; treasurer for south, Mel Webster; secretary, Mrs. Gordon Kirkland. Mrs. Bert Alton expressed gratitude to all those who had helped on various committees. Owing to the next picnic being the 50th anniversary of this family reunion it is planned to hold it at Lucknow on the third Sunday in June, 1972. Plan to join your relatives in the area of the first settlement of Websters. HAROLD FORD NOONAN Harold Ford Noonan of 176 Huron St., Clinton, died on June 27, 1971. He was 0 years of age. Mr. Noonan was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, on January 19, 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs, John Noonan. He was married to the former Ann Stewart and the couple lived in Windsor until Mr. Noonan retired from his job with the Canadian. Imperial Bank of Commerce in January, 1963, when the couple moved to Clinton. During his years in Clinton, Mr. Noonan belonged to the Anglican Chuch and was an active member of the Clinton Lion's Club. He also served as deputy clerk-treasurer of the town of Clinton. Surviving besides his wife is one son, Robert Adam of Toronto. Also surviving are two nieces and two nephews in St. John's, Newfoundland, and two nieces in Terrace, B.C. Funeral services took place from the Ball Funeral Home, Clinton, on June 30, 1971, with the Rev. S. Sharpies officiating. Interment was in Baird's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank McGregor, Ted Davies, R. B. Campbell, Wm. Counter, and John Livermore, all of Clinton; and Ken Stewart of Brucefield. Flowerbearers were Stewart Daymond, Port Credit; Don Daymond, Chatham; Robert Glenn and Robert Cole, all nephews. Friends and relatives attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. A. Wilson of Belleville, Ill.; Mrs, F. R. Daymond, Chatham; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallis of Toronto; Mr. Mac Aikenhead and Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Ross, London. EDWIN (COOPER) JUDD Edwin "Cooper" Judd of Seaforth died June 28, 1971, in Seaforth Manor, Seaforth. He was 70 years of age. Mr. Judd was born in Clinton on May 7, 1901, the son of the late Thomas and Harriett Judd. He had been a resident of Sea forth for six months.
