A puppy can add a great deal of excitement to an afternoon at the Nursery school.
Sometimes the fun is just puddling around with some water and a
bottle,

Fun and games are serious
business at nursery school
There is plenty of variety offered in the activities at the nursery school being held in the
afternoons at the Wesley-Willis church. Here two youngsters try their hand at painting with a little
help from one of the supervisors,
There is a quiet play area with
puzzles and the like or an active
play area where they can jump
or play among staked tires.
There is a dramatic play area
where the children can carry out
family roles,
There is a science corner
where the children learn about
animals, like the class' goldfish,
or learn the wonders of a
magnifying glass or plant beans.
And there is the music
corner.
After all this activity, there is
a compulsory rest time of 15
minutes. There is one formal
activity, circle time, which takes
up 15 minutes of the afternoon.
And there is one other
compulsory part of the school: a
visit to the washroom.

For a group of Clinton
pre-school age children there is a
new experience these days as
they attend the nursery school
at the Wesley-Willis church run
by Mrs. V. R. Bird of R. R. 3,
Clinton.
For the most part, the
program is unstructured for the
children. They are able to
choose the activity they like
best, but there are rules to
govern their behaviour. The
children cannot take toys away
from others and have to put
their toys away before initiating
another activity. They must
remember that they are part of a
group and may not interfere
with other children who are
busy with their own interests.
They cannot hurt each other or
harm the equipment. They take
part in both indoor and outdoor
play activities.
The school has several areas
where the child can choose his
activity according to his interest.
