Spring in Huron County brings the return of those beautiful sunsets on Lake summer can remember some sunset or other. A whole summer of memorable
Huron. Just about everyone who has ever visited the lakeshore in the spring and sunsets lies ahead. —photo by Andre Amsing.
Spring is a time of strong, warming breezes that stir the vanes on this old windmill like the new
sunshine stirs the creaking bones of an old man.
Spring comes late to the deep forest. Deep in the bush the Ieavet take a little longer
to unfold because there is less light and the sunlight takes longer to stir the
reawakening bushes. So, while the rest of the countryside is revelling in lush green
tones, the stark, naked limbs of ;trees on a hilt are sitouetted against the sky.

Spring means quiet pools of water reflecting the rich blues of the sky, inviting the fisherman to
drop a line and try his luck.
Spring brings blossoms. And what better place to see 'blossoms than in Huron County where the
apple and peach trees have been in full bloom for the past -few weeks„ spreading their fragrance
across the countrytide.
Spring in
Huron
County
Spring Breaks in. Foam
Spring breaks on loam
Along the blackthorn bough,
Whitethroat and golden wing
Are mating now.
With green buds in the copse
And gold bloom in the sun
Earth is One ecstasy
Of life begun.
And in my heart
Spring breaks in glad surprise
As the long frosts of long years melt
At your dear eyes.
