CALDWELL—McDOUGALL
Baskets of Easter lilies made a
pretty setting on Saturday, April
3, when Rev. Stanley C.
McDonald officiated for the
marriage of Marie Catherine
McDougall, RR 1, Auburn and
Alan William Caldwell, of RR 1,
Londesboro. Wedding music was
played by the organist Mrs.
Harry Lear.
The bride is the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman McDougall, RR 1,
Auburn, and the groom is the
only son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Caldwell, of RR 1,
Londesboro.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked
charming in her floor-length
gown of white satin trimmed
with lace. Her gown was
highlighted with a stand-up lace
collar and short puffed lace
sleeves, and a chapel train edged
with the same lace. Her
three-tiered veil was held in
place by two large white roses
accented with shimmering
crystals. She carried a white
Bible trimmed with yellow roses
and white ribbons with yellow
rosebuds.
The maid of honour and only
attendant of the bride was Miss
Lorna McDougall, only sister of
the bride. She wore a
floor-length gown of yellow
chiffon over taffeta. Her dress
was somewhat identical to the
WI meets
brides, with the stand-up lace
collar, empire waist, and short
puffed lace sleeves, To complete
her outfit she wore a yellow
flower.headpiece with a small
veil, and white gloves. She
carried a small bouquet of white
shasta daisies with fern and
trimmed with yellow ribbon.
The best man was Mr. Trevor
Moon, RR 1, Londesboro, and
the usher was Mr. Ken
McDougall brother of the bride,
RR 1, Auburn.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at Tiger
Dunlop Inn, Goderich, where
the bride's mother received the
guests assisted by the groom's
mother. The three-tiered
wedding cake trimmed with
yellow roses adorned the head
table with white candles on each
side.
For a wedding trip to the
United States the bride wore a
matching yellow crimplene dress
and coat with a corsage of
yellow roses and white
accessories.
Among the guests at the
wedding were the brides
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John
Keith of Mount Forest, and the
grooms grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. E. Colquhoun of
Clinton.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was entertained at a
shower held at Mrs. Henry
Hunking's. Gifts and money
were also given to her by the
staff of Bartliff's Bakery in
Clinton where the bride was
employed.
The bride and groom will
reside in Auburn.
