There were so many ways to enjoy all the days, When activities beckoned I answered the call. Leaving childhood behind life was still no great bind And the pleasures in season were not hard to find. The change through the year was met without fear And school or vacation held joy unconfined. As we turned the next page and I reached middle age The seasons meant little, hard work was the rage. To prolde food to eat, and a mortgage to meet, Keeping up with commitments kept Tao in a cage. Now life's winter is here, time goes swiftly I fear And the season of cold seems to lengthen each year. Although winter is king, I look forward to spring When the ache in my bones will, I hope disappear. Our Brownie meeting opened with our Sixes song. "I Was Fairy Queen." There was not time for a game because there were so many things to do. The new Brownies enrolled in January played a balancing game. We all set a table properly after doing some practicing. Brown Owl asked how our bulbs we had planted last fall were coming along. Some reported the bulbs had died and others had them growing real good. This is something we have to do to complete our Golden Hand.
