Ontario St. UCW meets obituaries Huronview for four years and had previously lived on the sixth concession of Goderich township before moving to Clinton. She was a member of Porter's Hill United Church and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Clinton. She had no living relatives. Funeral services were held from the Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton, on March 19, with the Rev. T. C. Mullholland officiating. Interment was in Maitland Cemetery, Goderich. Pallbearers were Ivan Torrance, Donald Harris, Douglas Stirling, Allen Betties, Wilmer Harrison and Ray Cox. -CARL DOUGLAS MURRAY Carl Douglas Murray, RR 3, Zurich, died March 24, 1971 in South Huron Hospital, Fxeter. Ile was 38 years of age. He served for 10 years in the armed forces then worked for the Department of Transport and was employed by Ontario Hydro at the time of his death, He is survived by his wife (Marie) Mary Margaret Cook, four sons, Kevin of Smith Falls, Douglas, Kenneth and Scott; all at home; three daughters, Rose Made, Joyce and Lisa, all at home; two brothers, Gordon of Bull, Quebec and William of Wrcreter; two sisters, Mrs. Victor (Patricia) Morrison, Prince George, B.C. and Mrs. Richard (Sheila) Lernowieb of Clinton; his parents Mr, and Mrs. dames Murray of Varna and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Picked, Clinton. Funeral services took place on Saturday, March 27 from St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Zurich with burial in St. Boni face Cemetery. Mrs. Jack Bettke presented the speaker with a gift for her most informative talk. On April 14 the club will attend the Kinette Interclub for Zone Bin Goderich and will also travel to Goderich on April 28 to entertain patients at the Psychiatric Hospital. Betty Beer has returned home from St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where she underwent an emergency appendectomy. Mr. and Mrs. Don Towton of Exeter have taken up residence in the Fink Apartments on Nelson Street. The Kippen U.C.W. meeting of March 11 was held at the home of Mrs. A. Dinnendyk. Mrs, Alex Malurtie opened the meeting with the worship. The theme being the birth and life of Moses. The Scripture was taken from Exodus 2, 1-10. Gwen Lavis led the devotions with a story of Easter and prayer. A hymn was sung as a closing. Three thank you cards were received and read. Local PRISCILLA L. ELLIOTT Priscilla L. Elliott of Huronview died there on March 17, 1971. She was 86 years of age. She was born in Goderich Township, the daughter of John and Mary Torrance on September 4, 1884, She married the late Victor Elliott in March, 1922 and was a housewife all her life. She had been a resident of Mrs. J. Sinclair opened the business part of the meeting with a poem about spring. Roll call was answered by a spring verse. Plans were made for visitors night in April. The ladies accepted an invitation from the Northside U.C.W. ladies of Seaforth. There was discussion on the renovation of the church kitchen and of a coffeemaker. Mrs. R. Elgie introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Currie of Ilensall. She spoke on the Medical missions that the United Church supports. Her talk was very informative. She was thanked by Mrs. Emmerson Kyle. The meeting closed with a hymn and prayer. Everyone enjoyed a bake sale and a delicious lunch was served by the hostess and committee. Lawson, John and Elizabeth. Mrs. Bill Dale spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hoegy and Scott of London. Elaine Pfaff, Debbie Finkbeiner ,and Julie Prof, all of Crediton, spent a few days the past week with Mr. and Mrs, Ken Preszcator, Dianne and Nancy. Joan Thompson spent one night of the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson and Ricki of Goderich. Linda Preszcator spent a few days the past week in Port Elgin. Mr, Bill Whyte of Guelph spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. W. L, Whyte and Tom and Mr. Harold Whyte. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Riley, Kim and Greg of Winthrop and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley spent Thursday in Ajax and visited with Mr. Robert Woods in the Ajax Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. John Mann of Clinton visited on Saturday with Mrs. Irene Grimoldby: Jim Thompson spent the holidays with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Hunter of Colborne Township. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Medd and Kern were Mr. and Mrs. Nick Tzannes of Toronto, Mr. Jim Medd of Glen Huron, Mrs. Bob Johnston and Bruce of Grand Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vincent of Blyth. Mrs. Ken Reid of London spent the weekend with Mrs. Luther Sanders. Jane and Paul Reid and Don Parker returned home to London after spending the holidays with their grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Butler of Tillsonburg were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. George Hoggart and Harvey. _Annie Shepard spent the weekend with Joan Thompson. Paul and Mark Van der Molan returned to their home in Oakville after spending the holidays at the Whyte home. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jewitt of Clinton visited on Sunday with Mrs. Ella Jewitt and boys. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Annie Medd had the misfortune to fall and break her hip and is a patient in Clinton Public I lospital. Mr, and Mrs. Charles Hart of Goderieh visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buchanan and family. Congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Marris Bos on the birth of a daughter in Clinton Public Hospital on March 26. Mr. Paul McMaster of Kitchener spent Saturday with Mr. ,and Mrs. George lioggart and Harvey. Mrs. McMaster, Carol and Mark returned home after spending the holidays at the Hogged home. Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson, Betty, Sharon and Bob visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Hunter of Colborne Township. At the time of writing Mrs, Sam McClure is a patient in hospital. We hope she will soon be feeling better, The C.F. Euchre was held on Friday evening, March 26, in the hall with the following winners; women's high, Mrs. Graham Kerr; lone hands, Doreen Dolmage; low, Donna Buchanan; men's high, Sam McClure; lone hands, Graham Kerr; low, Tom Whyte. Mrs. Wonfor was the special guest for the evening, She spoke on her work as Deaconess in Pincher Creek, Alberta. She also showed some slides of the beautiful area there.
