With the close of the hockey season comes the closing of the
Adastral Park arena at CFB, Clinton. For those of us who have
received the best of hospitality and the use of the facilities, the Base
arena is going to be missed.
For the final night a big evening of hockey has been planned for
Wednesday, March 31, starting at 6:30 with a Wee Wee game
between Clinton and Adastral Park, Then at 7:30 p.m. the Clinton
Old Timers meet the Over 40 group from the Base. All proceeds for
the evening will be given to the Huron County Children's Aid
Society. For 25 years the Base has been a big part of our community
and every hockey fan from town should be out for the big game.
In Clinton's lineup will be ex-greats — Dan "Wrist-Shot"
Colquhoun, Gus "The Blind Ref" Beussey, Ken "The Old Smoothy"
Doig, Bill "The Ageless One" Counter, Doug "Flashy" Andrews,
Ken "The Young One" Clynick, "Sugar" Meriam and maybe Harry
"Coonie" McEwan can be talked out of retirement. These fellows
may be passed their prime hockey playing time, but they will put on
a great display of puck control and passing combinations.

Here are some of the reasons. Vega has as much room per passenger as many big cars. It
also has an engine that Offers plenty of freeway power (and still squeezes 80 miles from a

BANTAMS
Seaforth eliminated the Fish

with their 8-5 victory.
Although Clinton bad the
offensive chances, they played
their poorest defensive game of
the year. Seaforth went ahead
3-0 before Randy Millar scored
two quick ones in the second
period. Rick Cameron's goal at
19;25 closed the score to 4-3
for Seaforth,
At 4:20 of the third, Clinton's
Gerald Cantelon tied the score

Raiders play
Friday
Milt and Mabel's Raiders led
by the young line of Patti Kay,
Debbie Colquhoun and Ruth
Ann Neilans downed Lambeth
3-0 last Sunday evening.
Debbie and Ruth Ann scored
early goals and captain Sandra
Graham scored on a rebound in
the third for the final goal. The
girls return to Lambeth this
Saturday afternoon for the
return match.
Ruth Ann Neilans must have
heard about her father's playing
several years ago for the Colts.
She and a girl from Lambeth
tangled late in the third and
Ruth Ann landed a sharp right
to clearly come out the best in
the tussle.
This Friday night the girls will
tackle a club from Fanshawe
College at 7:30. Come out and
see the girls in their new
uniforms.

Game two of the _series was

This game, too, had been a
close affair. Clinton took the
lead on Randy Millar's first
period goal but Goderich tied it
up. Then John VanLoo gave the
home team the lead again only
to have Goderich come back
again before the end of the
period.
The second period also ended
in a tie with Mike Anstett
scoring for Clinton.
Then Cameron let go a hard
slapshot which hit the Goderich
goaltender on the shoulder and
went into the net.
The Clinton team will now
meet Mitchell in the next series,
probably to begin on the
weekend.
15:47 Clinton went ahead again
when Randy Millar pulled.
