Education is sponsoring a
Travelling Art Exhibition. This
display is set up at the Clinton
Public School.
It is arranged by the" Youth
and Recreation Branch of the
Department of Education,
The exhibition consists of
five main areas; contemporary
crafts, jewellery, Indian craft,

The contemporary crafts area
is an exhibition devoted to
modern interpretations of
traditional crafts. The objects
are of wood, ceramic glass,
fabrics, metal and leather.
The jewellery display consists
of a collection of contemporary
jewellery in silver, gold, ceramic,
enamel and leather — recently
produced by Canadian
craftsmen.
Indian crafts is a group of
decorative and useful objects of
fur, skin, wood, and grass made
by Canada's first citizens.
The stitchery display consists
of modern, decorative stitchery
and applique of fabrics, yarns,
leather, and beads; wall-panels
and banners.
Finally there is the methods
show, an exhibition that
describes the material and
methods used by craftsmen in
clay, enamel and batik.
All those interested will have
an opportunity to see this
excellent display. Individuals are
welcome at any time during
school hours. It would, however,
be appreciated if groups would
let the school know ahead of
time to avoid possible crowding.
Visits at other times could be
arranged if necessary.
The exhibition will be open
on Tuesday evening in
conjunction with the Open
House programme.
This display will be here from
March 1 until March 19.
