'Machine' bogs down at Goderich
BY ANDR E AMSI NG
Last Tuesday, the senior
Redmen travelled to Goderich
for the second game of a
two-game total point series.
The "Red Machine" led with
seven points from the previous
game. Unfortunately the "Red
machine" had engine trouble.
Top performance was gained in
the first quarter while the
Redmen held a substantial lead,
Several defensive lapses put
Goderich within threatening
distance with the score at half
being 36-26. The first seven
points 'were included.
The highlight of the first half
was an effective Zone press as
well as good rebounding by
Clinton, But they started to get
tired.
In the second half, Clinton
threw the Wrench as they
flooded the engine with 34
turnovers. Rebounding was still
good and defence not bad but
their slim Thad was hard to hold.
As Goderich 'whittled down the
lead, Clinton tried desperately to
break out with several good
shots by Pete Cameron and Rick
Dubler. But Goderich's
momentum finally caused the
"red machine" to splutter and
lay silent when Goderich broke
past with a 69-63 win. The
total series was won by Goderich
142-136.
Rick Dubler had his best
game of the season with 17
points. Andre Amsing followed
with 16 and Pete Cameron with
15 for a total of 48 of 56 points
scored in this game.
Since Clinton is in Second
place they have the right to meet
a Sarnia team in WOSSA this
Friday.

Spring
The snowbanks are sinking,
And children are thinking,
The days are growing longer
And the sun is getting stronger.
The birds are here
The air is clear,
The buds appear
For spring is near.
Rivers are rushing,
Floweq are pushing
Out of the ground,
Without, a sound.
Don't shed a tear,
For this is the Spring of the
year.

The Lonely House
It stood upon the lonely ground
The house beyond the hill
The birds they made, but not a

And all the world was still
All the doors were opened there
And warmth was all around
The birds flew in without a care
In the house upon the ground.
