The Legion hopes to be able
to assist in the new Guide camp
that got started near Goderich
last fall. The land was a donation
but Goderich Lions have taken
assistance will be gratefully
accepted.
We also had occasion to
attend a "Fly Up" from the
Weenies to the Brownies on
Wednesday February 17 and it is
truly remarkable how the little
girls accept discipline.
Congratulations to all the leaders
for jobs well done,
It was suggested a short time
ago that perhpas the Branch
would like to take over the
"Campers and Sports Show"
which has been held at CFB
Clinton for the past few years.
After consideration this has been
decided on so the tentative dates
have been set as April 17th and
18th. We expect some good
displays and hope the weather
man will co-operate. There will
be door prizes and a draw for a
camper trailer. The proceeds will
be used in Legion work and
already part of the proceeds are
earmarked to help out at the
Guide Camp near Goderich. The
Campers club from CFB Clinton
has volunteered assistance on
this project so let go Trail

Fuddle-duddle has become a
national phrase of some
importance and may well be the
deciding issue when Canadians
elect a new federal government.
Strange is it not? A simple pair
of words like `fuddle-duddle'
muddling the entire Canadian
political scene! Impossible.
You know of course, I refer
to Prime Minister Pierre Elliott
Trudeau's recent publicity
concerning a couple of off-color
words he is reported to have
mouthed at the Opposition. No
one else has dared to spell out
the words PET whispered under
his breath so I won't either. All I
can say is that I've heard the
words before and white they
aren't particularly gentil, they
are not blasphemous, profane or
impious. They are simply dirty.
So what?
I suppose one could argue
that it is unbecoming a Prime
Minister of Canada to even think
such thoughts much less mouth'
them at anyone. To me, that's
like saying the Prime Minister of
Canada should be some kind of
saintly creature, as far removed
from the ordinary Joe on the
street as the east is from the
west , . . and that's not the kind
of man I envisage as the leader
of Canada, making decisions
from a young, vibrant,
sometimes-not-so-nice populus.
I think you could put this
fuddle-duddle business in the
same category as many other
attempts the Opposition has
made to cut Trudeau down to
their size — childish, jealous and
frustrated.

the smartest clothes he can
purchase. He even wore a white
trench coat to England on a visit
to see Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth. Shocking!
Here's a man who dates movie
star Miss Barbara Streisand, the
sexy songstress who wows
audiences wherever she goes. She '
even came to Parliament and sat
in the proceedings while Pierre
was at work. And Pierre even
dared to cast the occasional
glance in Miss Streisand's
direction, Unthinkable!
Here's the man — he dares to
be a bachelor in the bargain —
who enjoys a night out on the
town with a pretty girl at his
side to make the evening
completely earthy. Disgusting!
He's been known to dance up a
storm, take a drink or two and
call on several different women
in the space of a few weeks,
Horrors!
I'm not the least bit surprised
that Pierre mouthed an insult at
the Opposition who can't forget
that the unemployment picture
in Canada these days is not as
rosy as it could be. I'm not
offended by the Prime Minister's
silent outburst to the man who
went to great lengths to torment
Trudeau and then ran like a
kicked puppy to the newsmen
with his tale of woe about being
hurt by the PM's moving lips,
Frankly, I was more sickened
by John Lundrigan's weeping
and wailing on television's late
news about his deep love and
devotion to Juhn Diefenbaker
and Lester B. Pearson and how
he has been so wounded by the
surprisingly uncouth Mr.
Trudeau, his own dear prime
minister of his own beloved
Canada, who displayed such a
shameful and unacceptable
attitude in the House of
Commons. I fully expected
Lundrigan to cover his eyes with
one arm to denote his purity and
fling the other arm to his breast
to show pain. Ugh . gh gh.
From the conversations I've
bad with folks about the
incident, there are very strong
indications that Trudeau-mania
has been revived. Most people
ate identifying with the
foul-mouthed prime minister
who acts very human when he is
angered and says things because
that's the way he feels rather
than because that's the way hes
expected to answer.
Trudeau has proven again he's
his own man — and very much
like everyone else in this
country. He's not politicking all
the time like some others Who
babble endlessly and say
nothing.
Think go out and buy a
fuddle-duddle T-shirt tor spring.
And fuddle-duddle to you, too.
Ti g lu t tearns of the
surrounding district participated
in a Mite Hockey Tournament
held on Friday and Saturday,
February 19 and 20, at the CFB
Clinton arena.
Teams taking part were
Adastral Park, Clinton and
Goderich, with two teams each,
and Seaforth, arid Blyth, each
with one team.
The first game was to be
played by the Adastral Park "A"
team and the Clinton "1" team,
with Adastral Park taking the
game by 'default, as the Clinton
team did not come.
The first game that was
Played was between Adastral
Park "B" team and a Goderich
team, with Major F. Golding,
Base Commander, officially
opening the tournament by
.dropping the first puck. The
final score was 8-2 in favour of
Adastral Park, with the
following people getting points
for the "B" team: Joey Hartford
obtained four goals; Jean Paul
Kingsley, two goals and one
assist; Chad Wiebe and Bobby
Motomura, one goal each; while
Robert Lynn got two assists,
The first Saturday game for
Adastral Park saw the "A" team
meet the "B" team, with the
"B" team winning by a score of
6-3, Goals for the "B" team
were by Neil Hatch, who
succeeded in getting four goals
and one assist, and Ricky
Theissen and Allan Thomson,
who each got one goal. For the
"A" team it was Joey Hartford,
Mike Belliveau and Pat Leger
each getting one goal, while
assists were from Jean Paul
Kingsley, who got two, and Guy
Marion with one.
Probably the most exciting
and hard-fought game of the day
was for the consolation trophy,
with Clinton edging Goderich by
a score of 3.2 in a
"sudden-death" overtime period,
This trophy was presented to the
Clinton coach by Major Golding.
The finals for the winner's
trophy was between the Adastral
Park "B" team and the Seaforth
team, with Seaforth winning by
a score of 2-0. The trophy was
presented to the Seaforth coach
by Captain I. E. Wiebe.
A series of exhibition games
were then played between
Huron Park and Adastral Park,
with Adastral Park winning the
Novice and Midget games by
scores of 8.1 and 5-0
respectively. Huron Park won
the Pee Wee and Bantam games
by scores of 5-1 and 4-0,
In the evening the Base Senior
team defeated the Clinton
Teachers' Team by a score of
6.3,
One outstanding feature of
the tournament was the support
given to the teams by the fans of
the area.
On February 13, at the OFD
Curling Club, 12 teams
Competed for the Bank of
Montreal Trophy in a "Family"
Bonspiel..
Mr. David MacAdam, Credit

consisted of Mr. Corey Mason,
skip, his wife Jean, their
daughter Janet, and Dianne
Brochu.
Two draws with three six-end
games were played. Each team
had to have three members from
a family, two of whom were to
be junior. The following family
rinks participated: Turner, Will,
Mason, Walker, Arnott,
Belliveau, Leduc, Lince, Ccc.
Mason, Paulin, Sparks and Page.
It was a good family day.
The Hugh Campbell School,
boys' volleyball team, under the
direction of Mr, R. Stanbury,
and girls' volleyball team, under
the direction of Mrs, J, Telford,
have played some exhibition
games with schools in the area.
Last week the teams played at
Huron Centennial School during
the noon hour. Each team
played three games, with the
only win of the day for Adastral
Park being the boys' final game,
which Adastral .Park won by a
score of 15-4.
On February 23, the AIM
Hugh Campbell volleyball teams
played at Seaforth Public School
during the noon hour. The girls
won their first game by a score
of 15-9, losing the next two
games by scores of 15-12 and
7-1. The boys also won their
first game by a score of 15-5,
losing the next two by 15.11
and 8-6,
An elementary school
volleyball tournament, involving
six schools, within the area, will
be held in the Physical Training
Centre at CFB Clinton on
Saturday, February 27,
beginning at 9:00 a.m. and
continuing throughout most of
