Randy Millar was too much
for Seaforth as he scored all five
goals in the 5-4 victory in
Seaforth this past Saturday

League. Rick Cameron, Randy
Millar, Greg Butler and Steve
Jones scored.
The Fish and Garners have

This weekend Clinton celebrates Minor Hockey Week along with
thousands of teams across Canada, Our guests for the weekend will
be boys from Clinton, New York. Also participating for their final
year the kids from Adastral Park. Twelve years ago the Annual
Minor Hockey Weekend was begun with the Base people helping in
setting up the weekends activities.
In a recent bulletin from the Canada Minor Hockey Week
Committee the following statement was included. "Because
participation in Canada's National Sport provides healthy exercise
that will improve the body, discipline that will train the mind, teach
co-operation, team-play and a respect for rules, the boys are sure to
benefit. When boys benefit, the community benefits and because the
community benefits, the community must contribute. We do our
best by supporting Minor Hockey Week."
The Clinton Minor Hockey Association are hoping for a large
turnout of fans to show the boys we as a Community are interested
in their future. A special emphasis to come out Saturday night to
witness the Midget game. This season we have one of the best clubs
ever assembled but very few parents as fans come out to give these
kids their support.
Throughout the hockey season many parents and boys voice their
thanks to the Service Clubs who help in financing our out of town
teams and the local house leagues. The Kinsmen Club of Clinton
operate the Wee Wees, Squirt and Pee Wee House league and the All
Star Pee Wee Club, the Fish and Game operate the Bantam club and
with the assistance from the Legion club have a league for the
Bantam B boys. The club which now must produce the players for
the Junior club, the Midgets, are financed by the Lions Club.
The Clinton Raiders are one of the first girl' hockey teams in the area and still are one
of the best. Members of the team are: Front 'row (left to right) Anita Brochu, Joan Garrow, Patti
Kay, Joyce Neilans, Ruth Ann Neilans, Debbie Colquhoun and Janet Graham; second row,
Marlene Cunningham, Mary Jean Glew, Deanie Strong, Sandra Graham, Sandra Fremlin, Donna

Friday the senior Redmen
travelled to Stratford for a
"must" game.
Infuriated by the unexpected
loss against Goderich, the team
coldly rallied for a charging
drive. A change of spirit was
bolstered by lots of
encouragement amongst the
Clinton players.
Clinton dominated the game
by neutralizing the "big rrien"
from Stratford, Showing great
strength with an effective
man-to-man defence and great
rebounding, CHSS humbled
Stratford Central 53-31. Rick
Dubler led the way with 15
points.
On Tuesday, Clinton travelled
to Seaforth to set a double
record, Pete Cameron scored 30
points for his personal best. The
team also set a record in fouls. A
grand total of 36 fouls were
called against Clinton, more than
double the average. However
Clinton pulled out of the game
with a 74-53 victory. The
victory wasn't sweet, as even
men who've never had a foul,
received one in this game.
The game, at least. broke
Seaforth's three game streak.
The coach was pleased since
this was his former school but it
seemed the referees conspired to
call as many fouls against
Clinton as possible. All the
coach could say was, "This is
unbelievable!"
