CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
On every hand we hear people
wishing a „Merry ■ Christmas. We
would go farther in wishing that
you may . enjoy the spiritual
blessings of Christmas. We pray
that there may. be found room,
lor Christ in the. Irin of your
heart. One of : the wonderful
things about Christmas is that
we are all thinking how we'can
help someone else. A child -of
a poor family attended the Mis
sion Sunday School.' Someone in
a thoughtless mood tried to.shake
the lad’s simple trust, in God by
this question: If God loves you,
why doesn’t He take better care
of :'you? Why doesn’t He tell
someone to send you warm shoes,
some coal,, and better food?,The
little fellow thought for a momT
ent, and then said: I guess He
did tell somebody/ but. soniebody
forgot. /
Let'us remember this arid give,
The spirit of love and peace that
spread from' the Manger Babe
across the centuries of this hun
gry, weary world, is once more
gladdening a myriad hearts. Let
us_pass.on to those who have so
little, a gift that will make many
hearts happy. .Christmas is fam
ily day, as it should be, as we
think of that holy family of
Joseph, Mary and Jesus: Let us
not forget that beyond the happy I
-cir-eleof-homeand-friends-there^
/is a great circle of weary arid
wan faces of those who have
found discouragements and dis
appointments in the battle .of life.
Give /thern something to cheer
theif hearts. Awake like Scrooge
in the Christmas Carol from the
misery of a selfish, life. Resolve
to live and think for others, fpr
the sake of Him who at this time
became a Child to save us, . all,
who for Tur sakes became poor.
Read Johri 3:16 and take the Gift
arid thank, the Giver. • •

BETHLEHEM

if the hub of the universe, the
centre of all wondering and ador
ing eyes and hearts. It has a halo
upon it that gives it an*unpar-
, alleled prestige & interest among'
' all places on the earth since Jesus
came. It is the romance of our
religion that iri this two-by-four

H,o\y often, men are , asked.,’

of Christ the way he did-and for
the purpose he had, makes . it
