the church with a large attend
ance. The president; Miss M' Me*
Leod conducted opening" exer
cises? and the secretary, Mrs.
C. Agnew, the minutes busi
ness, including a reminder to
save all Christmas cards to be
brought to the church and sent
to foreign points. Encouraging re
ports ‘Were given by all officers.
The . Christmas program from
Glad Tidings was followed. Life
memberships were presented to
two faithful members, Mrs. R. T.
Douglas and Mrs. A. jE. Purdon.
The Society were indeed? fav
ored to have Rev. W. McClean
address them and alsq install the
new Sla/te of officers for 1955. Mr.
McClean ^ive vivid sketches of
his experiences in missionary
charges of his college years when
he spent a part of each, year on
the far northern, fields of Mani
toba, British Columbia and Sask
atchewan many times walking or
going on horseback long dis-
tances to reach outpost centres
and in spite of a shack for a
manse without, any conveniences,'
was not without, its humorous
side. He concluded by encour
aging the ladies in the great and
important work of the W.M.S. i

The annual directors -meeting
of the Bruce Federation was held
in Walkerton, November 30th and
elected the officers; th the Exe
cutive for 1955. Re-elected to the
executive were, Donald Ireland
dne-year . term ;< Alfred Brunton,
president, three-ypar term and
Alphonse Murray for a three-
year term. Mr. Orville- Taylor of
Kincardine, resigned, owing to
the pressure of insurance ^meet
ings and in his place Mr. John
Shier of Armow, was elected.
An amendment in constitution
will be before the annual meet*
ing December 10th, in, Walker
ton, providing representation on
the Executive for a director from
each of the Commodity Groups

Products Marketing. Act.,
The Directors approved a plan
to obtain: as many signatures' as
possible from Bruce County Hog
Producers, petitioning the Can
adian Finance Minister Harris to
prevail upoh the chartered banks
of Ontario to cash heg, cheques
at par. The banks have the use
of two to three million dollars
inafloatingfundcreatedfrom
the- time the- packer issues the
cheque until the farmer cashes

superintendent, presided for the
program which opened with the
Lord’s prayer in unison followed
•by a carol. The superintendent
spoke briefly followed by a reci

Wall played a violin solo accpm-

Steer sang a duet, “Star of the
East”. Mrs. Charlie Tiffin’s class
gave a number; Objects of the
Bible”. Mrs. Jim Richardson and,,
Dorothy Srpith sang a duet. Mr.
Charlie Tiffin’s class gave a num
ber representing the colors of the
Bible. Mrs. Jim Richardson sang
a solo. Mrs. Wm. Scott’s and Mrs.
Farish Moffat’s classes combined
to present a short play, “Let us
Worship at the Manger”, follow- /
ed by/a’ "carol by the congrega •
t ion. The teachers on behalf of
the Sunday School presented di
plomas, seals and prizes to the
children for attendance and work
