From the delightful opening number by the kindergarten children to the well presented closing act‘by the Grade 7 and 8 pupils, the concert proved most enjoyable. The costumes added much and indicated a good deal of work in this regard, as well, as the hours spent by the staff in training the children. The kindergarten children pre­ sented an acrostic number and a dance by the girls. Those taking part in the acrostic were: Mary Bannister, Mary Elizabeth West-, lake, Joan MacKenzie, Arietta Pollock, Donna Corriji, Rickie Jardine, Lynn Hodgins, Michael Duncan, Allan Gardner;0 and in the dance, Joan McKenzie, Judy Stewart, Kathleen Smith, Bev­ erley Taylor, Donna Corrin, Mary Bannister, Mary Elizabeth Wes tlake,~ Arletta“Poll6ck. “Santa’s Helpers”, a musical playlet, was presented .by Grades 1 to 6, with the entire, student group on stage for a carol sing­ ing finalle. The players included Paul Henderson, Tommy Wasney, Betsy Henderson, Dick Richards, Judy Webster, Kenneth Jones, Linda Button. . The shoemakers were: Louise Jones; Beverley Rath well, Mary. Prize Winning Speech Recitations were given by Islay Howald, Elizabeth Finlayson and Ka*en Burden. Jean Richards gave her speech on “Marilyn Bell”, by which she. had won the Bruce^Xjounty Public^ Speak­ ing contest. Fourth Room students pre­ sented a musical -play “Half Ah Hour With Santa Claiis”, that featured ai group of carol singers Whose numbers interspersed the drama which was very ably pre­ sented by Harm. Junior awards were re­ ceivedby Bruce Baker, Fraser Ashton, Gary Ritchie and Thom Collyer and Intermediate awards by Jean Richards, Joanne Hun­ ter, Nancy Forster, Mary Allin. Fraser Ashton replied, thank­ ing the Red Cross Tor supplying the transportation and the ladies who accompanied them on the trips to Teeswater, with special fh"ahks""tb Mrs. McKitfF”for her efforts in helping organize the program.
