It was forecast, that there would
a close battle for the reeve
ship of Huron Township, with
two old councillors, Chester Em-
merton. and Claude Dore in tihe
rin£, and it couldn’t have been
much closer, Mr. Emmerton won
by six votes. He polled 342 votes
to Mr, Dore’s 336.
John MacDonald headed the
poll for eouhcillor with 456 votes,
followed by Alfred Walden, 396;
John Campbell, 390;; ansd John
McMurchy, 381. The unsuccessful
candidate was Russell Collins

The. leading councillor, better
known as Jack “Dofy” MacDon
ald, is ,a brother of Mrs. Wilfred
Hackett of Ashfield. It was his
first bid for a municipal seat.
