The meet­ ing opened with all members participating in ~.a sing song led by Ken MacNay. This was fol- lowed by a, prayer given by Arn­ old Hartford, the new president. Bessie Reavie then took, charge of the meeting. Hymn 579 was sung with Rev. Meiklejcihn pre?- siding at the piano. The scripture, taken from Psalm 34, was read by Joyce MacNay. United Church Evening Auxiliary The October meeting of the Evening Auxiliary was held in the church rooms on Thursday. The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Glen Walden. Members were asked to remember donations of clothing for the bale to be ship­ ped soon. There is a box in the church for these donations. .Mrs. K. C. Murdie, gave an excellent report of the Bruce' Presbytery executive meeting heldDn Luck­ now on October 5fh. Miss Mar-1 garet Rae took the chair for the program. The worship service was conducted by Mrs. Murdie, Mrs. K. Cameron arid Mrs. E. White. Miss - Eleanor. Plumsteel gave a” very comprehensive and interesting account of 'the first chapter of the study book' on India. Aj vocal solo,by Mrs. Rob­ ert Campbell was much enjoyed. Mrs. Alex Andrew gave an ap­ propriate paper. As a lovely piano solo, Mrs. HarVey Webster play­ ed favorite selections from Victor Herbert’s music? A contest and lunch followed. ' ' Hunter-Kilpatrick Group The October meeting of Group- Ill of the Women’s Association of the United Church was held at the home of' Miss Hazel Web­ ster oh Wednesday evening, Oct­ ober 13th with twenty-four mem­ bers and two visitors present? Mrs. Hunter took charge of the opening exercises. Mrs. Albert Little read the scripture and the roll call was answered by a cur­ rent event. Thank-you cards were read from' Miss Murdie and" Mrs: Fred Anderson. Final plans were made for the cooking school on October 28th in the hall. Mrs. Alex Hayens presided for the program. Mrs; George Elliott gave a reading, Mrs. Havens favored- with two mouth organ selections^ after which Mrs. Drennan gave a reading. The meeting closed with hymn and mizpah'benedic­ tion. A contest'was held and lunch was served by the commit­ tee in charge. A vOte of thanks was given the hostess by Mrs. P. MacMillan?
