She suffered a severe stroke -at the breakfast table and passed 4&way that evening at the home Of her son-ih-law and daughter, Mr. ^emd Mrs. Charles Hallam, .. with whom she has made her home for 25 years. > Mrs. Johnston was born’ in. Eng­ land, but came to Canada as a child. She was formerly Mary Jane Williams, daughter of the late Fred Williams and Elizabeth Feltham of Saulisbury, England. Her husband, George Johnston ■Of Summerhill in the Clinton dis- trict, predeceased "her 26 years ago.Since then.she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Hallam. The funeral service was held at the J. K, Arthur Funeral Home, Auburn, on Saturday af­ ternoon' conducted by Rev. Geo. Watt of Dungannon United ' Church. Pallbearers, were six* grandsons, Donald, and Irvine Johnston, Tom Hal- lain' -.'and. Alynn * Dalek • Flower bearers were Donald Morgan,,Lou Lizmore, Fred and Leslie Hal­ lam, Walter Melvin'and Eugene Dale. Internment was in Clinton Cemetery." Mrs. Johnston is survived by a brother, Feltham Williams of Parkhill; two daughters, Mrs. Chris Dale (Maud), Clinton; Mrs; Charles Hallam (Viola),- Luck- now; five sons, George of Bayr field, Fred and Jim of London, Edward of. Blyth . and Robert of Summerhill. Two daughters died in infancy. Surviving also are 36 grandchildren, 44 . great ' grand-. children, six great-great grand­ children and a . step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Fulford of Clinton, MRS. RODERICK MacLENNAN The death of Mrs. Roderick MacLennan occurred suddenly ph Friday, July 30th' at the home of her brother-in-law, Mr. D. A. MacDonald of Lochalsh. Mrs;. MacLennan was formerly Agnes Shaw, a;"daughter of Chas. Shaw and Catherine McWilliams, She was born at Uibley, Michigan, on March 9th, 1862, and' as a child of eight returned with her parents, to* Dutton where they had formerly resided* She was a beloved old lady, and had endeared herself to many in the Lochalsh district, where she took up residence fol­ lowing her marriage at Windsor to Roderick MacLennan on April 25th, 1922/He predeceased her jn 1943; • . i, ■ - i She. was a member of Ashfield | Presbyterian.
