JUVENILES BEAT ONTARIO
CHAMPS IN 10 INNINGS
Lucknow Juveniles humlbied
the confident Wingham Jilvenile
team here last Wednesday night
by defeating them 6-5. in 10 in?
nings. Wingham were last year’s
O.A.S.A. Midget champ? and
were a highly rated team in any
one’s league This seemed to be
in the local boys minds as they
bobbled the ball for the first 4
innings to give the Wingham
team4 a; 5-2 lead,
After/the'4th inning the locals
settled down and got one run
in each of the 6th, 7th, 8th arid
10th innings, while holding Wing
ham scoreless;
Paul Coiise was the hero' of'
the game slugging out . three hits
for 5 times^at bat. The final hit
•drove in the wijnning run in the
10th inning. . ' *
The much talked about, and
publicized Keith Lancaster was
not particularly impressive in the
pitching department, arid Kent
Hedley’ • more than matched him
pitch for ’ pitch. Wingham got 7
-hits...-ofif-.Hedley.- while Lucknow
picked Lancaster for 9 safeties.

HENSALLDEFEAT-LEGION —
INTERMEDIATES TUESDAY
’ -—T • ■ .•
Hensall Intermediates defeated
-the—Lucknow^Legionlntermedi-
ates in Hensall on Tuesday 13-5.
Dan Rose donned a uniform
for the first time this year to
catch behind the - plate for Geo.
Westlake. Dan did a good job as
Luckpow used their fourth catch
er in as many games.
Although not entirely respon
sible for the Lucknow loss, th^
Hensal park did nothing to help
them. A screen in short left field,
floodlight poles in the outfield,
a guy wire,, to one of the poles,
and electric wires from pole to
pole to pole all contributed to
the Hensall win.
