WALTER HORNE ?—^death”~"of"””MTsT^ WaR^r" Horne occurred on Sunday at the Baker Convalescent Home,, and removed one of the Village’s aged folk who had endeared.- herself to a host of friends. Mfs. Horne was within a couple of months of her 87th birthday, and while she had been seriously ill on more than one occasion, her in­ domitable courage was always a factor in. her recovery. Early Saturday she suffered a heart attack but rallied from it temporary before suffering an­ other seizure which claimed her life on Sunday. c . • Mfs. Horne was formerly Jem­ ima Ada Hind, daughter'of Geo.? Hind and Matg^ret Falconer* She was born at Omemee, Oritario, on August 21st, 1867. Her father was a Baptist minister and while the family lived in Durham, Jemima met and. married Walter Horne of Durham? They were married on March 3rd, 1887 and continued to reside in Durham for a time before coming to Lucknow over fifty years ago where Mr. Horne followed his trade as blacksmith, Some 36 years ago they moved to Kingsville where Mr. Horne died on Mm’cK 29th. 1934. Mfs. Horne remained at- ^Kingsville for a time, before^ returning to Luck­ now, which’ had always been ••hpme” to her. Here she was af­ fectionately known as “Grandma Horhe”, and in her passing the community loses a fine and. 'Up­ right lady. * 1 , . ' Mrs. Horne is', survived by4 her daughter. Miss Mildred Horne of Royal Oak, Mich.; a daughter-in-, lavy, Mrs, Minnie Horne of Tor­ onto: two granddaughters, • Mrs. Lillian -Ellis of Toronto, Mrs. Jas. Stewait of Midland and two great granddaughters, Glenda and’ Naricy Stewart. ■ She was predeceased by a son, Leroy Horne ' of. The death of Mrs. Neil Gillies occurred at her home here on Tuesday at noon. She suffered a heart attack during the night Monday and succumbed few hours. She was Annie McConnell and years of age. The funeral service held at the ; Johnstone Home on Thursday afternoon at 2.30 o’clock with interment in South Kinloss Cemetery.
