Mrs. Richard West read apaper on The Pot­ ency^ of Words. At the close of the meeting - the hostess and friends served refreshments. There were 30 adults and three children present. The June meet­ ing will be held at the home of Miss Sadie. Johnston. D. J. MacRae perform­ ed a double ring ceremony unit­ ing in marriage Evelyn Marguer­ ite, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Alex Leaver, TV 3, Wingham, On­ tario, and David Andrew Hackett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry HiRk- ett, R. 7, Lucknow. The/thurch was decorated with carrdel'abra;whitelilacsandpink”—~ tulips. Mrs. Murray McDowell played the wedding music; and - Miss Jessie Finlayson sang :p ' Perfect Love” before, the cere­ mony arid “1’11 Walk Beside You” during the, signing of the register. The bride, given in marriage by her father, Wore a portrait gown in nylon net and Chantilly lace over satin designed with .fit­ ted net bodice, enhanced with ap-. pliqued motifs with rhinestone trim, the tiered net bouffant skirt l was also trhnjmed with appliques. The lace jacket had Uny collar and-lily point sleeves. Her veil of; silk illusion net fell from a . hMo headdress of Waxed buds ■ and flowers. She carried Amer­ ican Beauty roses, lily of the vai- ley and shadow - lace. She wore - the gift of the groom, a diamond set wtist watch. Mrs. Howard Walker, sister of the bride, as' matron of honor, wore a gown of dancing pink nyf- \ lori net over taffeta, styled with tiered skirt and. fitted strapless bodiice, with brief bolero finished with lily point gloVes. She wore a net headdress and carried Col­ onial Queen Elizabeth roses. Miss Marjorie Coultes, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore an identical gown in toddlers blue ■ with— matching -gloves—and-net headdress and carried Colonial sweet peas. Joyce Walker, niece of the bride, Was a pretty little flower girf wearing an identical gown > of dancing pink with matching gloves and net headdress and car­ ried Colonial yellow roses and lily of the valley. . . Joe King, cousin of the bride, ' was ring bearer and carried the rings, on a white satin pillow. Mr. Alvin Hackett/brother of the groom, was groomsman.'
