fairly early in the morning, may-

about?
I was thinking as I washed..the
dishes how nice it is to live in
a friendly town, a town for which
its .people have a great affection.
A great deal of our conversation
tonight was about the “early’his
tory of the town, and the.sur
rounding community, Some of us
had read certain books about it,
and swapped .yarns from them.
We all displayed a surprising
knowledge of, and interest in, the
subject; One Would think we we?e
natives, third v or fourth genera
tion, and then some one remark
ed on the fact that the longest
any of the group had lived here
was foui* years.

spring has pretty well eleminated
the flood danger. Their dykes
will stand a twenty-five foot
waiter rise.

We all decided, though, that we
are hereto stay—“dead or alive”,

I wondered how a town ac-»
quires this aura of friendliness
(it gives out. I could write a coL

or this morning. Too late to phil

We’ll talk about food—that’s so

Remember, long ago, I told you
about Picture Plates? There is
such a variety of things you can
do, and the result never fails to

raisin bread and a Picture Plate.
